First up though is a #beautifulsunday (hosted by @ace108) photo with a #funkyedit (hosted by @krazypoet) with Saturation to the Max.

Winter continues to bite, with brief interludes of milder and even quite nice sunny weather - still cold though hovering around 5 or 6 degrees celcius.

Dry enough for a walk or two in the countryside, it's nice to have a break outdoors but will be even better when Spring arrives and you don't need three layers to walk anywhere.

So long since I did a middle of the road - risking life and limb for the sake of entertainment.

Uptree too - I do like a good bark.

This is a chicken, I'm no chicken but I really have no tolerance for the cold dark winter nowadays.

Spring is not so far off now though, getting up for work and travelling to work in the dark is just so miserable, as is it getting dark at 4pm - it's dark when I get to work and when I leave work right now - which just makes me feel so tired.

Always a flower to brighten the dark days though, and soon it will be warm and dry again to enjoy the great british countryside again.

We had snow last Thursday overnight, just a light dusting but even a little snow in the UK is a shock to the system.

Thankfully the Toyota Rav 4 seems to excel in the snow, I deliberately took the usual route to work I would never have dreamed trying in the Renault Kadger because it would have just ground to a halt on the first slope.

This bend to an uphill side road which is never gritted would have stopped the Renault dead, the Toyota had no issue while it did flicker the traction control warning a few times that just kept me running straight and true - the Renault system would have just applied the breaks on it's own until it stopped dead.

Take the full, smooth drive with me to the tunes of @avesa I'm no car expert, but after a long history of random cars I really do think the Toyota Rav 4 has to be the best car I have ever had the opportunity to drive, it's by no means premium and in the design trim it's number 2 in the line up with the Black Edition sat at 5 the top - but while the Design trim might be cheap - it's by no means lacking with all round parking sensors, reverse camera, full climate control - and while just 2wd instead of AWD on the higher models - 2wd is more then ample to handle snowy roads and as I have no intentions of driving up mountains or through muddy woodlands with it - 2wd is far more then I need - especially when it works so well in tricky driving conditions.
