Daily Poem 4: Does 1:43am Count as Morning?

in Writing Club3 years ago (edited)

I awake suddenly.
The air is frigid with warning
Of the incoming snow.
Does 1:43am count as morning?

Yesterday was chores day,
Which meant a grocery run.
I bought my Pepsi which I love,
But also bread and stuff - how fun!

Oh shoot!
I totally forgot
To get the toilet paper
And trash bags - duck!

Once I drove back home in rush hour,
With a lukewarm Costco pizza at that,
I fell promptly into bed,
Forgetting to turn on the thermostat.

So now I lie awake in bed

Do I get out of bed to turn on the heat?
Do I stay in bed and wait for the sun?
Either way I’m ducked. Writing in @ecency at 2 o’clock.

Background: I woke up freezing at 1:43am this morning cause I forgot to turn on the heating before falling into bed, exhausted from grocery shopping after 9 days straight of working. This is a real story. The first verse works stand-alone as a more artistic product; I really debated whether I wanted to expand on it.

In the end, I did get up and turn on the heat. In case you’re wondering. Yes the floor was glacial.

Great Poem! keep them coming

N0, 1:43 am doesn't count as moring, heck it doesn't count for night for me😂

Thanks!

Hey there! Glad to see you prospering on Hive!

fyi: proofofbrain, palnet, and gems might be decent tags to include for these types of poems and writing posts.

If you write anything about Astral Entities make sure to tag oneup and @ me.

…is there a list of tags somewhere? I’d like to just have a set of tags for all poems and call it a day

Not that I know of but if you find one please share.

To that point. A bit of explaining is due:

  1. Hive is the underlying blockchain that supports all of the content here.
  2. The website you actually use to make posts is called a 'frontend'.
  3. There are 2 types of front ends: layer 1s and layer 2s.
  4. Layer 1 sites look at ALL content that is posted to Hive.
  5. Layer 2 sites look only for content with up to 5 specific tags such as oneup for NFT gaming, leofinance for financial posts, and palnet for generally anything etc.
  6. Peadk and Ecency are layer 1 front ends while sites like leofinance, splintertalk and oneup are layer 2.
  7. Communities or tribes on Hive very often create their own layer 2 frontend to consolidate posts they would be interested in.

Common List of Tags I'm currently aware of:

NFT - all things NFT
oneup - NFT Gaming
play2earn - NFT gaming
gaming - general gaming
opg - general gaming
neoxian - general
Proofofbrain - general
gems - general
palnet - general
cent - general / token talk
spt - splinterlands
leofinance - financial information
