Asbach Uralt Cognac, yes this is what we drink on special occasions. In a special coffee. Its a cognac. Yes the French have cognac, but the Germans also have Weinbrand brandy the Dutch way. Its strong but soft and very nice, although I take just a little little bit. The Weinbrand name has been a protected name since 1971 and the product must meet various requirements. For example, only a limited number of grape varieties may be used and strangely enough these come from the French department of Charente near Cognac. Imported to germany. In addition, the total production must take place for at least 85% in Germany and the brandy must be aged for at least 2 years in oak barrels (which also come from France!). The production process is almost equivalent to cognac. After pressing and fermenting the grapes, the wine is distilled twice in copper stills and then aged just like brandy.
The most famous German Weinbrand OR cognac if you will, is this brown, Asbach Uralt which is produced in Rüdesheim on the Rhine. The company was founded in 1892.
Weinbrand has an incredible stock of 21,000 barrels each containing 300 liters and some are even more than 50 years old. In contrast to the cheaper cognacs in particular, Asbach Uralt is sweeter and milder and has something honey-like with a bit of vanilla from the aging in oak barrels. Asbach Uralt is usually drunk neat, just like cognac, if necessary slightly heated. ( in winter ) Another well-known recipe is the Rüdesheimer Kaffee; put 3 lumps of sugar in a coffee cup and pour 4cl. Asbach Uralt. Light this and let it burn for a minute, then stir with a spoon until the sugar dissolves. Then fill with hot coffee and finish with fresh whipped cream and sprinkle with cocoa.
The bottle is sleek and nice labeled with a seal and cork screw.
This time I also had to refill the almost empty crystal bottle we have inhereted from hubby’s father. He loved a good cognac aswell. Its a special heavy drop shape bottle we keep in the cubbord near the photo of Charlie.
I fill the carafe with a metal funnel and the liter of new asbach is ready to be drunk.
Also we are planning to go on a tour on the distillery, on our way to italy its 5 hour drive and along the way thats a cool stop over.
This is the metal funnel, its 15 cm and specially for alcohol.
The bottle before the re fill.
The cork with the sael on top.
CHEERS , HAVE A GREAT SECOND DAY OF EASTER.
its appreciated and remember always focus on being creative
instead of being bee-zy.

My mama @buckaroo says that we can't drink wine. But I also use a funnel to pour the goats milk in a bottle after we finish milking the goats. My mama says you wrote interesting articles when she was still blogging. I'm going to help her write on my own page now
How cool thats great , i am gonna look at your blogs now and thank mama @buckaroo for the compliment

Sounds like the best plan I heard this week! Cognac is a great excuse to celebrate or say cheers to life.
Thank you ! To Blue skies, the return of the sun, the awakening of the Earth and if you ever find yourself questioning the wisdom of our Lord, remind yourself that He chose the perfect time of year to provide us with the greatest gift of all.
May your Easter be filled with all the blessings of the season, and be Covid free. Happy Easter Sunday and Monday
I'm a bit miffed really...Easter wasn't so good. Fell off my roof and didn't even eat one chocolate Easter egg!
I'll have to make up for it next year. 🤣
Fell off the roof OMG and than after even no chocolate either man that’s worse !
Yep, wasn't the best moment of my life. There's a post on it from yesterday if you're interested in having a laugh at my expense.
I did laugh , oh god I sinned on Easter!
Lol...It was just like that but without the suit! 😂
