Welcome to the hit-parade for newcomers!!
People feel happy when their post appears in the global daily chart. Moreover, they can get a nice award on SteemitBoard when they occupy the top position.
I guess you also noticed that these enviable positions are often occupied by well known bloggers who have already earned a good reputation. It is becoming increasingly difficult to get noticed and appear at the top.
This can lead to significant frustration for newcomers who write quality posts but feel drowned in the Steem blockchain ocean.
This is where the Hit-Parade for Newcomers comes to help.
To get a ranking in this hit, you need of course to get a fair amount of votes, comments, or payment. But this hit-parade will be restricted to:
- users who NEVER appeared in ANY of my previous daily Global Hit.
- users who have a reputation lower than 50.
I think you now understand that only newcomers will be able to pop-up here. This way, we can put the spotlight on new authors and help them to raise their reputation.
Hello Arcange, I got a question please:
These days are more and more downvotes... no worries they do not really hurt me or elsewhere for now and it's a good way to mute some sillies! It's just in the beginning I found it quite funny how like cammillosteemdreamer tries to annoy us.
When this happens I always check the account involved, to get why or what or ever... So I realized that the last weeks that more and more brand new created accounts down vote on my posts and nearly "all" show this in their wallet...
So back to my question which is:
Have you, as an approved witness from my side, a possibility to stop all this sillyness?
Like starting a discussion to include a "downvote barrier" on newly created accounts for at least some time until they get really involved with their brain on steem...
Or have you the possibility to at least stop sending them your message? For I'm not to comfy with the idea that you as my approved witness kind of "encourage" them with you sending them a welcome.
Anyway, thanks a lot for reading and may even responding.
Peace Love and Grooviness
D
Hello @mondoshawan,
Short answer: no. This is how the blockchain works.
I'm personally not a fan of downvotes at all, because they generate more frustration than beneficial effects (considering they can sometimes be useful)
There are already a lot of discussions among witnesses about downvotes. Not sure we will see a major change until communities are out there with SMT
I already tweaked my "thank you" bot to lower such abuse.
But, you have to know that, at the same time, these messages are used to track those accounts (me being some kind of honeypot)
The amount involved is really low (less than a few STEEMs) but very beneficial for abuse fighters like @steemcleaners.
"Ask and you shall receive", Mt.7.7 😉
And thank you for your unfailing support 🙏
Thank You for answering... and for the work you do! D
