Today’s lifestyle tip would centre on excessive sweating and ways to reduce it. We all know sweating is inevitable as its a psychological reaction which involves the production of watery liquid fluid, excreted through the sweat glands in the skin of mammals. Sweating could be cool at times as it is a medium through which the body tends to regulate the body temperature, especially in relation people that live in area’s with high temperature. It’s also a feature of a system that's in good working condition by things could get a little messy when the rate of perspiration is high which could be triggered by the activities engaged in. When I say perspiration I mean the process of producing sweat. Getting so sweaty results in the emission of a stench (Body Odor). No one likes a guy or lady that has a strong foul smell. If you fall in this category or have a friend or family that’s experiencing such, here are some tips that should be helpful in helping you or them in overcoming this predicaments.
Some tips which you should consider emulating are;
Taking your bath properly
The Use of Antiperspirants
Reduce the consumption of spicy foods
Putting on light clothing materials
Cut down on your caffeine Ingestion
Taking your bath properly
The first tip is the one I consider highly important, which is taking out time to bath properly, some people spend less than a minute in the bathroom after engaging in rigorous workout sessions, I advice you spend more time washing your body especially your armpit and pubic region. Also its advisable to use medium temperature water rather than cold or hot as this helps your body intelligently adjust to the surrounding temperature and reduce perspiration rate afterwards
The Use of Antiperspirants
The second tips I would like to expatiate on is the use of antiperspirants, an antiperspirant is any substance used to minimize sweating or perspiration and the associated odor. Making use of a quality rather an inferior antiperspirant could help reduce sweating by clogging sweat ducts thereby eliminating the offensive odor and giving you a fresh fragrance. Antiperspirants could be applied before going to bed so the aluminium salts in it can sink in and become active the following day.
Reduce the consumption of spicy foods
Thirdly reducing your consumption of spicy and peppery foods as they tend to trigger an overheating reaction in the brain, this results in the brain signalling the skin when it detects the capsaicin compound ( a chemical compound found in chilli pepper) to produce more sweat to cool down the body temperature. So whenever you are craving or in the mood for a spicy food, endeavor you consume it in a well ventilated or air conditioned location.
Putting on light clothing materials
Am sure we all know that wearing thick materials when the temperature is high isn’t the best of choice, it’s best to wear breathable clothing's which will allow air pass through to cool off the sweat. Put on stocking whenever you are about to put on your shoe during a hot weather as this would help absorb the sweat and suppress the smell or rather you could employ the use of sandals, Slippers/ Slides to keep your feet free and ventilated.
Cut down on your caffeine Ingestion
Lastly you should cut down on your caffeine consumption as it spikes up the nervous system thereby triggering the sweat glands to produce more sweat. This could be worse if probably you consume a hot cup of coffee, as it would worsens the situation with a double effect. Hot beverages and food should be a no no during hot weather.
