Finding It Difficult To Sleep? Here's What You Can Do

in #health6 years ago

What's really keeping you awake by this time? Many people cannot answer this question! It is either they're working, on social media, fiddling with their phone... Or they just cannot sleep.

Many people find it difficult to sleep at times. If this happens to you just once in a blue moon, then you probably have no problem. But if you constantly find yourself awake in the weekend of the night against your wish, them you need to start getting worried.

I've written some quick tips that can help you sleep better. Kindly note that this post is not meant for those suffering from insomnia or any other sleep related illnesses - you need to visit a doctor for proper treatment.

Finding it difficult to sleep? These tips will help you.

Have a schedule.

It can be quite tempting to fiddle with our phones or just do something else when we find it difficult to sleep - but you're only worsening the situation. Set aside a particular time to sleep, it could be from 9pm to 5am. Even when you are not sleepy, put away distractions and close your eyes.

With time, your body system will get used to the routine and you'll have very little difficulty in sleeping at the right time.

Watch what you eat.

Don't go to bed hungry and don't go too full either. Avoid heavy or large meals within a couple of hours of bedtime. Your discomfort might keep you up. Try to avoid alcohol and caffeine too, I'm sure you don't want to wake up with a nasty headache or bloodshot eyes.

Your environment?

Creating a restful and peaceful environment will aid your good sleeping habits. Imagine having to sleep with so much dust on your bed or clothes packed to one side, there's no way you'll sleep. So make sure your environment is clean and peaceful.

Physical activities.

When you're involved in one thing or the other during the day, you sleep better at night. Try to get busy, mentally and physically.
