Are We Really Surprised??

So as an Arsenal supporter over the last few years things have started to become all to predictable. Good results against smaller teams and bad results against stronger teams, but now things are taking a turn for the worse.

Yesterday Arsenal lost 3-0 to Manchester City for the second time in 5 days and its not so much the result, it was the performance of the team that has me worrying. The players don't seem to be playing for the team or their manager. Arsene Wenger is currently in his 21st season as Arsenal manager and now more than ever is the time for him to start considering his position for the sake of the club itself.

For all of the great things Arsene has done in the past, it is the past and like it or not his style and approach has to be questioned in this era of football. There is now many more questions being asked about Arsene's ability to coach at the highest level anymore as the decline of Arsenal is become more and more spectacular match by match. Arsenal have now lost 7 games already the year which is the most of of any premier league team. There was also another telling aspect about last nights game as a lot of fans didn't attend due to the direction that the club is going.

My opinion is that Arsene Wenger has to be told to leave as he will resign as he will always feel as though he can turn things around. I respect Arsene Wengers thinking, self confidence and belief as he will not throw in the towel, but its now time for someone above him to throw the towel in for him.

Change is coming at Arsenal and I think that this will be Wenger's last season at Arsenal, but I feel the club should announce this to bring everyone together especially the fans and knowing that Wenger will be gone at the end of the season will get everyone right behind the club again and support the team fully without any fustrations.

All things must come to an end, and I'm afraid its now time for Arsene to leave while he can with some dignity.

What Are Your Thoughts?

The board need to make the decision quickly, before things get worse!

I love it FAM

Spurs supporter!!
When was the last time you won anything ay???? Was you even born haha

the league cup "blud"

Mind the gap!

What year was that?? hahaha

Laugh while you still have your sense of humor lol. Enjoy your Thursday nights in Gibraltar if ya can stay in the top six in the years to come that is.

What you gonna do when Harry goes to Madrid "Fam"?
Spurs will aways be in our shadow, we've been poor for the last 3 years and still won more than you!! haha

My thoughts as a Spurs supporter: give him a life long contract.

What really needs to be done: He's got to go and you are right he will not step down. He is not the only one that needs to go, they need to clean house. He has assembled a squad with no spine, fight or will. There was a time when you were winning nothing but playing sexy football. Now, you are getting less points and the performances are subpar as well. if i was the owner, I'd move mountains to get Diego Simeone. He may not have his teams play the most attractive stuff, but he will make sure they play for him and the shirt. Arsenal really need a new backline, goalie and defensive mid -- amongst them there needs to be a leader or two, and a natural winner.

At the end of the day, Arsene Wenger, I want you to stay.

A serious change is needed!

Wenger is finished. He should be replaced with a younger coach with new ideas.

Wenger is a legend and as a Liverpool fan I would love to have had a manager that could have brought us premier league titles. I agree though that I think it is now time for him to announce that this will be his last season.

As you say knowing now will end the Wenger Out campaigns etc and may bring everyone together and you guys can at least end the season positively, maybe even have a go at winning the Europa League.

To be honest I don't think we will win the Europa League, but getting everyone to come together is the main thing right now.

They have a shot though, Athletico Madrid are favourite but Arsenal can beat them and every other team in the competition on their day. If Man U could do it I think Arsenal can.

Who would you like to see as the next manager? I put a £5 bet on Zidane the other day so hoping you guys aren't put off from Frenchmen after Wenger.

Wenger has already streched his career out to long and he is going to leave Arsenal a mid table manager at best. I agree that his management is out of date.

I however feel his time to leave with dignity might have passed already. Wenger seems to have already lost his fans and players.

He's so out of touch with modern day football, I can't wait to see how the players play with him gone.

To the question in your title, my Magic 8-Ball says:

Very doubtful

Wenger is a classic, yes. But let's remember even Sir Alex Ferguson was replaced.

You're right, good results but no titles. Is it worth it? I hope Arsenal's board can make the decision soon enough. I'm more a City fan, but would love to see Arsenal rising, gunners deserve it!

Personally, I feel Wenger began to overstay his welcome after the set of players who came after the invincible began to leave the team one after the other due to lack of competitiveness. The likes of Samir Nasri, Alexandr Hleb,Cesc Fabregas, Gael Clichy and Co.

Wenger has failed to evolve into modern football he still approaches management with the same style he used with the likes of Patrick Viera and Dennis Bergkamp.

He should have left immediately after the debt of the Emirates stadium was settled. That was the time Arsenal needed him the most and he delivered. I must confess, he has done great but refusing to leave when the ovation was still manageably high was his greatest undoing. He's like a father figure to these players whereas, what they need is someone to fire their innermost sense, someone who can come down to their level we see the way Conte, Klopp and Guardiola do with their players, that's the spirit the Arsenal players need. Even Diego Simeon isn't bad.

Another problem Arsenal have which I think is what is still giving Arsene his job is the fact that major shareholder, Stan Kroenke has refused to sell his shares to Alisher Usmanov who is ready to spend on the team, unlike him who is only concerned about the business end of Arsenal. As long as Arsenal continue to take in the billions, Kroenke is less concerned about what transpired in the trophy room at the expense of the fans and faithfuls. Even former Chairman, Peter Hill Wood gas come out to say Wenger has overstayed and if something isn’t changed at the top, Arsenal is just beginning to go down the drain.

PS: I’m a thorough Arsenal blood
