" Over there! That's your dinner! "
She screamed aloud pointing rudely at the few grains of rice in the blue plastic plate as she swiftly walked out through the kitchen door.

Kelvin, who was roughly dressed in a torn black polo, staggered towards the micro-wave with his hands itching from the heap of clothes he had just washed. With his blood red eyes, he hastily delved into the cabinet for a spoon to eat the dirty food like a sick dog. The clock said 07:00pm and he dusted himself sitting on the cold bare floor. He had only dug the first spoon of rice into his aching mouth when a loud voice got him fidgeting.

"Kelvin"

He recognised her voice immediately and jumped over the plate on a military race to the sitting room.

"Get their dishes and wash them leaving no stain! Not even a sight of oil! "

She ordered with her eyeballs almost falling out of the socket.

And tears built a castle in his smoky eyes while he packed the plates from the dinning table.

" kelvin! You forgot to take my fork "

Her second daughter, a ten year old who was sitting with her fat legs crossed on the couch, yelled at him almost immediately.

His hungry face grew pale when he saw the cracked bones from the chicken torn apart by that wicked woman's kids. That was the fourth time they ate in twenty four hours but he was served a poor meal without meat. There he was, washing the dishes on the sink with the worms in his stomach crying for food. In no time, soapy water splashed into his eyes after washing the last glass cup and boom! The cup fell on the floor and broke into irreparable pieces. His heart raced faster than an athlete on a relay race as he knew he was in for trouble. It wasn't up to a minute and all he felt was a slap on his back. Just when he was about recovering from that, his body got beaten countless times with a long whip. And the atmosphere was filled with Kelvin's screams from the pain he felt. How would a five year old survive such torture? He was about to die...

Meet Mr. Kelvin, the CEO of Craft Manufacturing Company in Paris. He is currently worth over 30 billion dollars. His tables have been launched with numerous awards home and abroad.

" Will he ever forgive me? "
She wept as she read the headlines.

" How dare you talk about forgiveness? You wicked soul! "
A voice spoke through her heart.

" I know I made him lick my feet but I wish I could see him again. I just wish I could give him a hug for becoming such a successful young man "

Like the soldiers at the world war, her heart was filled with word battles.

" Listen, if only his destiny was written on his face while he was still a small boy living with you, you would have learnt to treat him with respect whether he is your son or not "

And her weeping lips was sealed with an invisible super glue leaving her speechless for the next five hours. She knew she had messed up because she made him wear two shirts for one year while her kids had the best of clothes. She had made him skip school for chores severally. If only she knew that he would become a king, she would have treated him as such.

(This Piece is dedicated to kids being maltreated by heartless uncles and aunties)
