Steemit! Help my Name my New Baby!

in #family7 years ago

My wife and I are at an impasse with the name for our next baby and need some help and suggestions.

That's the baby, any name inspiration!

We had previously decided not to find out the sex of the baby, but at the second ultrasound my wife changed her mind and found out so she knows the sex, but I don't. I know a little weird so we need names for both sexes. The baby is due in April so we're starting too feel a bit of a crunch.

We like unisex names and our current Son's name is Kelly and our Daughters name is Andi. She always cross references any name with how they all sound together so looks like we're leaning towards a name the ends with a similar I or E sound.

She likes a lot of traditional English names like Charles, Edward, Victoria and Catherine which I really hate so they've been veto'd. We also don't want one of the new top 50 names and something more unique, without being total weirdo's and inventing our own names.

(From a previous pregnancy)

We have a short list that includes Hailey, Piper, Sam(antha) and Robyn for a girl, and Harrison and Ashton for a boy. But none of these are really awe inspiring or "the one" name.

She's already Veto'd my top choice for a boy which is Ashlee, and pretty much against my other suggestions that are too feminine including; Tracy/Trace. My top Girl name was charlie which has also been veto'd, so although we are leaning towards something unisex she doesn't want anything too mismatched.

(also from another pregnancy)

So this is our dilemma, please provide any suggestions or advice

100% upvote congratulations man! Mattie would be an awesome name ;)

Ansley or Aynsley

Finley, Brantly, Remmy

Congrats on the blessing and I have always liked the name Sydney.
Thanks brother!!

You know what, I'm really liking Sydney too actually. Definitely going on the list to ask her about in the morning!

I was going to suggest Sydney or Sydni too. I also like Bastion, short for Sebastian. Clare is nice too.

Really hoping you guys go with it!! I will be like yea I helped name a member of the Pheli Mint family!! Everyone around me will be like what are you going on about? Then I will show them your mints website and boom extra sales!! Just saying an unofficial advertiser position lol. Congrarts again brother!!

2nd vote on Sydney!

Means a lot to have the designer of the Steem round in my corner!!

Congrats! Rory ends in that long E sound and works for either gender. If you want something crypto and Star wars inspired, how about Poe? It's going to be a real name now, but I can't imagine it would crack the top 50.

Actually Rory may work and I like it. I'm gonna run it by her in the morning!

Let me know how it goes!

I always like haliey. But we names our kids off teins on firefly. River and Simon, well because they are twins

River is in my wives list actually but I'm still not sold on it.

I vote on River too

I like Charlie! Spell Charlie for a boy and Charleigh for a girl! Congrats on your new baby!! (:

I like the Charleigh idea, maybe she'll reconsider if we feminize it a bit.

Congrats on the next baby on the way! How about Bessie, Minnie, Grace, Shirley,Jack(ie), Marjorie, or Nancy? I'm not great with unisex names and I'm, aware that most of these are more on the female side as well.

I'm assuming that you don't want to know the sex of the baby until it comes out then?

She really wants Grace or Gracie but I really don't like it all unfortunately.

Well, not to toot my own horn, but, how 'bout naming the baby, maybe Fat-Elvis or something?

April, Raphael, donatello, Michelangelo Leonardo, or shredder.

In all serious kaci/Casey is a good unisex name and fits with the above theme.

You're welcome.

Congrats

Congrats (-:

doh forgot to put the name
Kevin works

Also buddy, congrats, that's awesome

haha when u have someone holding a hoe...u open up alot of memes ... cracked me up 🤣

u could go for the modern day version of Porche etc... Bitcoinaroy or Bitsienna...
or a Silver related like Ariene, Eirian, Kailasa, Arian, Ariana...

Congratulation to the new addition to the family!
Kyle, Kent, Kenny, Julie, Jackie, Janet

I have two sons even though I dreamed having two daughters 15 years ago. but now we are very happy.
Having baby is the greatest blessing and honor as a parent. I suggest "ZOE".

First, I'ld like to congratulate u on the arrival of your next baby. My mind is telling me shes gonna give birth to a boy.. So I'ld suggest u name him Happy. But if it turns out to be a girl, name her happiness. I pray she delivers safely.

Sounds like you need the help of Baby Name Genie 🧞‍♂️

Comeon bro, we all know your going to name the kid skeptic after your favorite poster on steemit.

:D

Congrats! and i will suggest like my name Kim hahaha

I don't know about a boy's name, but my husband's grandmother was named Neva. My mother's name was Sia. Just a couple of simple, but different suggestions😊. I hope your wife safely delivers your little bundle of joy💖.

Stiven , adam , bryan

If I had a girl I would call her sakura, shamira or Priscila

Good luck with finding a name you're both happy with. I know it's going to be something Catherine and I will have to work through shortly too.

I do like the idea of 'not a top 20 popular name', and 'not totally made up'. I'm also not a fan of strange spellings of common names, as the kid will live a life of correcting the spelling of their name. Not that it stops confusion between long term existing variations of the same name (Catherine/Katherine/etc)...

Any unisex suggestions I come up with are likely in the current top 50, like Cameron, so I'll just wish you luck at deciding on something

Name has magic power. It would be better if you name it with some verb or adjective in my country.

Congrats to the two of you! A friend just named their son Cameron and I work with a woman named Cameron. Cam works well as a nick name. Good luck!

Name the baby Joy. It's unisex and positive. Man you will get so many suggestions here. Congrats to both you and your wife.

Congratulations to you and your wife!! I personally like Ashton and Samantha. Everyone I’ve ever met with those names are absolutely wonderful people! Wish you the best with the delivery!

Upvoted and followedAeni would be great i think..unisex...im also pregnant but will name him(my baby is a boy) later..you can catch up my post @jerelyn..

Congratulations! Marsyas? Wyatt, Morgan, Serafina, Tabatha, James, Osbourne, Jaeger, Russell, Kristy,

Congrats Man!

Congratulations! I’d go with baby mcbabyface

3???? You must be mad!!! Congratulations man. You want a traditional name, that can be used for both sexes and ends in the I or E sound.... Not much then. But I've nailed it for you.

JAMIE

You're welcome

Alex, Sydney and charity and 3 names I really like. My wife’s name is Skye. That might work for you.

How about the name Jasper? It sort of evokes the traditional english feel - but it's a bit more modern. It can also be used for both a boy or a girl. I like that it's a stone that represents joy, comfort, groundedness and protection.

Boy: Wesley
Girl: Victoria (shortens to Vicky easily)

Congratulations mate! I reckon Charlie is a good one that works both ways :-)

How about Chris? Christian or Christopher for a boy and Christine for a girl. Not awe inspiring enough...How about Beverly? Not unisex enough...I need to cogitate on this for a while.

Unisex name: Steemy.

How about Johann? Pronounced as Yohanne.

What do you think of:

Sally
Joe

Cheers J

Congrats buddy, the family is growing so fast! Your gonna have to make more bedrooms - I'll have no where to sleep now lol.
I like Zoey, Sidney and Charlie in keeping with your theme. Good luck with the name hunt, whatever you choose will be perfect :)

Lol! I had the PERFECT name... but it's already on your short list....

Sam(antha). I think the name Sam or Sammy for a girl is super cute.

Have you thought about waiting for the little guy/gal to pop out and TELL you their name? Like, maybe it will be super obvious.

You have some really good choices already, though I understand not yet feeling the right one.

And I really like Ashlee for a boy, but that no doubt comes from me reading/watching Gone With the Wind.

Charlie for a girl!? That's cute too! Then, you'd have to compromise with an old-school name like Charlotte.

Choosing a name with several possible nicknames may be good too.

Oi!

Good luck!

In my country change the name the free jaja, so if two years later you can not change it.
