IDI - In the last two days the condition of the Pelabuhan Perikanan of Kuala Idi Rayeuk, East Aceh, looks quiet from the activity of loading and unloading and buying and selling the catch. This is due to unpredictable sea weather conditions and the wind blowing west.
BAT observation (Berita Aceh Timur), Sunday (15/10/2017) at Kuala Idi National Fishery Harbor (PPN), seen many fishing boats leaning on the pier.
Obviously, the fishermen are not fishing, affecting the price of fish that had soared sharply.
"The price of Selar fish reached Rp23 thousand / kg, Bloated fish Rp30 thousand / kg, Casks Rp22 / kg and Dencis reached Rp28 thousand a kilo," said fish traders at Fishery Port Idi, Muzakir (38) to BAT.
It is also said by other traders, KIKI ALIAS APA KI (52).
"The increase in fish prices is due to the small fishing boats and large vessels are difficult to sail because of the harsh winds of the west, making the sea waves to be high," said APA KI.
He added, usually this condition will last for a week and now the sea in high tide conditions.
"Insha Allah within a few days will begin to normal again," he explained.
In the meantime, Panglima Laot Lhok Idi, Razali M Ali, when he met BAT at Fishery Port of Kuala Idi said that the condition of big waves did not happen at low depth.
However, the condition occurred in the area of Exclusive Economic Zone (ZEE) approximately 200 miles off the coast of East Aceh.
So to avoid the big waves of many fishing boats from Palabuhan Kuala Idi, pulled over looking for a safe point, while the catches in about 30-50 miles are very little.
"Each ship can only get 3 to 5 pieces of fiber (a small keg) or about 500 kg," Razali said.
He also reminded the fishermen to be careful when the condition of the sea as it is today.
"Although the waves are big, it does not have much effect on the fishermen's safety, but the fishermen who use small fishing boats to be careful and alert to sea weather changes," said Panglima Laot Lhok Kuala Idi East Aceh.
