Vlog 395: What Youtubers don't get about Steem. Decentralized Sustainability.

in #dtube6 years ago

Your Steem account is not an account, it's a business.

If content creation is your goal in life than making your business sustainable is key.

Steem offers that sustainability.

The key is STEEM, in the form of Steempower, you need to have it. The more the better.

Rule of thumb: The higher the STEEM price the less you need, the lower the STEEM price the more you need.

Once you have it, you can be decentralized here as a creator, without relying on any third party but yourself for your income in STEEM.

Total Freedom.

Your Steempower can never be taken away and you can use it every single day to be sustainable.

But there are more benefits to Steem that no big content creator seems to get yet.

When you are on Steem you are not stuck to one format.

Your options for content creating expand and these options are already build on Steem and ready to use today.

Besides video, you can explore photography (Appics app), Podcasts (Dsound), Streaming (Vimm) or Blogging (Partiko, Steemit) here and much more.

And you can monetise all of it because Steempower gives you that option.

Steem is a content creators paradise for the people that understand that you build, invest and create first before you can become sustainable.

Content Creation and monetisation in a decentralized world is the future.

And it's sure as hell not on Youtube where one wrong word can mean the end of monetisation for your channel because you pissed off some advertiser by accident.

And have you ever thought about what you going to do after you are done with creating or want a holiday or just a break from everything?

Yes, you got it. On Steem you have options! You can use your Steempower to keep being sustainable by delegating it to someone else for a Return in STEEM for instance.

All I can say is, take some time to educate yourself about Steem and how it can help you be sustainable as a content creator.

I talk about it more in my vlog. Starts from @2:00.

Nice

Always so great to hear your positive thoughts on STEEM and the related Dapps. It feels so motivating to be in this game at the right time and to know someone like you believing in it just like I do! Great video talk as usual, please keep them coming for a bit longer!!! Greetings from Barcelona

Thanks!

Also, in terms of content creators investing their own money to buy STEEM Power; do you believe there’s place for a facility to make buying it REALLY easy? Like immediate/fool proof - pay on your debit card and you get STEEM directly in your wallet? (I.e no buying bitcoin, converting, using addresses etc)

(Unless something like that exists already, and I don’t know about it because I’m thick)

I just wonder if that’s possible because that could be a deal clincher to make things so incredibly easy for these people to transition.

Currently no, but I do know a couple of projects are working on it. Steem.ninja and Freedomex.

Ah yes! Funnily, today I’ve just been asked to make some videos for Steem.Ninja so I’m sure I’ll find out some more details sooner or later :)

Very good small post ... I like how you say it here very simple.
And it is ture ... " Steem is a content creators paradise for the people that understand that you build, invest and create first before you can become sustainable."
I've already seen a couple of big YouTubers users who just walk out here after the first three posts what they maid... and say they don't have the time to make here all time posts, but some how they have lot time all time to be on Facebook, Instagram, youTube and Twitter .... 8h all day... :))
I just look them and smile... and think WHY you say this :))) ???

But at the same time I realize that we have to be patient because sooner or later they will look for new ways wher they need post every day.. when their pages are already fully limited and isolated.

I hope I not think and see wrong ... I just say what I think.

By using an app called Share 2 Steem, one can automatically make a Steem post where a YouTube video is embedded, or a Twitter tweet or an Instagram post included as the content. That is, those three mainstream social media outlets can be used as Steem front ends. Since the Steem blockchain only stores text, using Share 2 Steem does store copies of photographs or videos on any decentralized storage. (It would be cool, though, if it used something like IPFS to store the pictures or videos as well. If it worked like that, the app would be extremely convenient for YouTubers or Twitter or Instagram users as a backup storage in addition to enabling them to tap into the reward pool.

Jep I know this App :)

Very true about this. I see my steemit account as more than a account like you have explained out.

But what is still keeping me confused is that if people see their steemit account as a business, then why are they leaving steemit?

Fantastically put, as ever. What I take away from this is that there are so many options for creators to be in control of their own value and work.

I feel it has been a path forward to build our own capital with the flexibility of focusing on various types of engagement to earn and create value. We can also help others create value for the ecosystem as well with delegations.

yep, nailed it. it's weird how there seems to be a forcefield of common sense between coming here and keep on feeding the google powered beastie but hey-ho, they will come around soon enough! :)

I think so too.

Great points! I continue to be excited by the potential of STEEM. There are so many things to do here and so many new things being developed every day. It boggles the mind!

Yeah I like passive income. I use YouTube in combination with @greendeliver-sm to reach the people that aren't on steem those are the people who might join the games and automatically steem.

Yesterday I made an account for the polish woman and gave her 100 steem she wants to play drugwars too 🤣😂🤣😈 I know I never get to be a dolphin if I keep giving precious steem away.

You could explain more about setting up a witness what are the pro and cons also making an app what and how.. you could do a vid about your tactics so we can beat you? 🤣😂😋

You could also show a businessplan make an account and let everyone see how it's done. Maybe I could help also but you have a team allready so that would be awesome like a showcase how it's done.

You could also partycrash other streamers or bloggers (I don't know your finances I don't have to know also but if I am really independent that I don't have to work anymore I would do something like that. ) if I win that lottery? I would do that for sure.

You could also make a game yourself.
Begin by looking a possibility for using unity in combination the steem blockchain is it possible? Unity is a game developer program with a lot off plugins.

You could also do a storyboard vlog with your developmentteam. Like a little movie series.

Try using other revenue posibillities like surpassing the 7 day payout for dtube. With YouTube you get revenue and keep getting revenue on your streams. While they are watched.

These are some ideas to fuel your inspiration.

There are lots and lots of other ideas. 😀

Very interesting info clearly expressed! Steem power is the key!

Steemians are better informed than ever before, but your videos were undoubtedly important and helped a lot in the community's learning.

STEEM and in this case Dtube involves the content creator and his followers and allow them to grow together and make money together.

"They will get it eventually..." - ahahah exactly, and it will be good for "us" (early adopters), because STEEM is going to explode, but at the same time, their arrival will shift the way content is created around here.

Not true we still have a big vision coming to steem, which are SMTs. SMTs are not just tokens like steem engine tokens. SMTs will be like a new steem blockchain, much bigger than a token.

I know man! I made a lot of video's about those. I see huge potential but after recent announcement by Steemit Inc. I am a bit more weary mentioning them. First RocksDB and then let's see.

I have thought about the same thing regarding big Youtubers. They left because they looked DTube as a money-making machine in a way that Youtube is for them, and when they couldn't create as much money from DTube, they obviously left back to Youtube for bigger immediate return. But what they've missed is the big picture of Steem as a whole with huge potential that Youtube doesn't have. Youtube already has its established advertisement model, but being centralized, there's little for it to evolve to better serve content creators. Seems like the actual opposite is happening with the censorship and all.

Hello. Really nice your video, you have been more time in this blockchain, so it’s good to hear some of the content there’s coming.
On 07:35 you talk about an app similar to Instagram, can you type the app name on this comment. Thanks!

It's called Appics. It's in Beta currently but on their telegram you can ask for access.

Very true. Steem power can actually work for you if you have enough. I think delegated proof of stake is such a genius idea. Youve been really persistent in creating content everyday. That can become taxing in the long run lol.

Having enough Steem Power also totally depends on the price of STEEM and where you are in the world.

Making content consistently is not that hard as long as you create what you enjoy and with Steem you have so many options now to mix it up too.

With all the benefits that Steem can offer it still requires an additional effort to use. That additional effort could be what separates those who want to expand and explore new options versus those who just want ease and convenience. Happy Friday.

friend thank you very much for sharing your experience and information

You're right, steemit community can help genious ideas e clever people to develope own skills.

Thank you so much for participating in the Partiko Delegation Plan Round 1! We really appreciate your support! As part of the delegation benefits, we just gave you a 3.00% upvote! Together, let’s change the world!

we get a lot from youtube, I often look for information about steem on youtube, even I really like seeing the tutorial on youtube about the steem project

Hi, @exyle!

You just got a 18.38% upvote from SteemPlus!
To get higher upvotes, earn more SteemPlus Points (SPP). On your Steemit wallet, check your SPP balance and click on "How to earn SPP?" to find out all the ways to earn.
If you're not using SteemPlus yet, please check our last posts in here to see the many ways in which SteemPlus can improve your Steem experience on Steemit and Busy.

I mean, on YouTube you don't have to use ads. You can sell things, get donations, etc, that you sustain on on your own.

Also, you don't need to make video all the time. There are plenty of channels that can grow from a few videos every once and a while.

Your views and explanations of Steem are very, very good. You are very knowledgeable when it comes to Steem, but YouTube, no.

I did stop Steeming, but after watching this video, I have more hope in Steem, and it's future.

I am still learning Steemit and D-Tube. You video helped me understand a few things. Thanks.

This post has been included in the latest edition of SoS Daily News - a digest of all the latest news on the Steem blockchain.

Simple and easy to understand. You help me to understand Steem more. Thank you!!! ♥

@exyle

I don't think that you are right about Youtube.

On Youtube, it is extremely hard to create good content, to rank content, to get noticed but it is possible, and the earnings are evergreen! So theoretically you could make money only by posting 1 video with 1 affiliate link or even 1 product for the rest of your life, Youtube will never ever delete your video..only if's hate speech racism etc.

It's simple people aren't looking for "Vlog Name...". Because nobody knows that you exist. Also, I don't think that you need good equipment as long as people can relate to it, or a looking for these specific videos. You can influence it for sure if you have a lot of money but it seems that Steem has the same problem.Of course, it isn't that easy, but I think you are getting rewarded for what you are doing. Nobody will ever have a chance on Youtube by filming himself talking a few minutes about random stuff. Why? Have a look at https://keywordtool.io

Just an example: I can spend hours or days on recording/editing a video where I know for sure that people would watch it on Youtube (because you can check it with the Keyword tools...)But when I am uploading it on Dtube it doesn't get any upvotes... But I can spend minutes talking about random stuff an make a lot of money. I assume that it is because people can relate to it, because in some way we all have the same interest which is cryptocurrency, but we want to grow the platform right?

This makes it really hard to create good content for Dtube, because people spend hours and hours on a video and users can't watch it most of the time, and it has no SEO etc.. so nobody will ever find it... It's demotivating at the same time...I can go on and on...

I love Steem and the community and that's why I am still here and I do get all the other points, however, I think that this is a serious problem and that's the reason why most people left or adapted their content...

Would love to hear your opinion about it!
