In John 15, Jesus called us to remain in his love and also to love each other.
I remember a story of two best friend, Mikhail and Christine who went for beach activities. They had a chance to experience riding banana boat ride in which a inflated tube pulled by a long rope attached to the back of a speedboat.
Mikhail is very eager to take the ride and he took on the challenge first. He held on tightly to the tube as the boat skidded across the sea. After the ride He encouraged Christine to join him.
At the point riding onto the tube, Mikhail realized that Christine is getting really scared. So as the boat picked up the speed, Mikhail slipped off the tube and splashed into the water. Because of him slipping, the driver stopped the boat and bring them back to the beach.
Mikhail made a decision to gave up his sense of fun and security for the sake of the scared Christine. Sacrifice is a noble act of love and it extends far beyond this story. Jesus Christ, made the ultimate sacrifice by giving up His life so that each of us could live. It is through our every small sacrifices that we do for each other that we can be experiencing and reminded of Jesus.
"Letting Go" so someone else can "Hang On". This can really make the world a better place.
Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for your sacrifice on the cross that you have made for us even before our time, to save us from our sin. Help us to love people around us with mercy and compassion through act of kindness and sacrifices. Amen.
