Once upon a time I've got really interesting order from one of the biggest Russian coffeeshop networks: Coffee House. They've asked me to design a series of take away coffee paper cups.

Wanted create sense of my favorite Russian city - Saint Peterburg. Used these images as the main references. I loved gamma here so I've taken all the colors from it as you can see.
Process of creation
Saint Petersburg, morning, students, cafe... Here is the sketch for this cup. I've found these steps in my temp folder which I showed to my client at the different stages of work.
Here was my final and they've asked me to make it more colorful again. I understand that is advertising illustration and it has to be bright so I've tried not to spoil that making it little bit brighter and less saturated.
Unfortunately I have not seen this cup printed in real life but I know for sure it was printed. Just nobody sent me any photos this time. If you'll find some shots in Google I'll appreciate that.
The cute illustrations. You managed to convey this atmosphere of the city of sweet autumn. It looks very cozy. In what program do you usually create your works?
Thank you :) It's all the Adobe Photoshop but I can do same on iPad Procreate sometimes.

This is absolutely gorgeous design! You should have asked your clients to deliver you a full set of all the cups so you have the full collection in real life.
Usually they should send it without asking. This is professional etiquette. But these days it is fading away unfortunately...
Now when you are saying it, it sounds quite normal that they should be sending you samples just as regular courtesy. Especially when the product itself cost pretty much nothing at all.
Yeah, I had to come to one of that cafes asking for an empty cup because I don't drink coffee but wanted to get my author's sample :)
That's pretty lame... :) Hopefully not all clients are like that and more appreciate actually getting some really beautiful art!
