Thick jam from figs

Ingredients


  • 500 g of figs;
  • 250 g of sugar;
  • ½ lemon;
  • several vanilla pods.

Preparation



Remove the tails from the figs and cut each fruit into several small pieces. Put them in a saucepan and add sugar. Add the lemon juice and vanilla pods and mix.

Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat, cook for 5 minutes and cool completely. Pull out the vanilla and cook the figs on high heat for 10-15 minutes.

Drip the jam on an ice saucer. If the syrup does not flow when tilted, the dessert is thick enough and it can be removed from the fire.
