The Gates couple recently made a stocks donation which is the first in over a decade.
Bill and Melinda Gates are the richest couple in the world. They own a huge tech home in Washington State and surely other places as well. At the time of the stocks donation, it was unclear who was the recipient of all this money.
Bill Gates is the co-founder of Microsoft, American Business Mogul, Author, and philanthropist. His current net worth is 89.9 billion American Dollars. He is in the ranks of other billionaires such as Jeff Bezos.
The recent Gates gift adds up to more than 64 million shares of Microsoft.
A filing in August of from the Gates foundation cited receiving the substantial donation. The foundation’s target is to empower the poor. They actively work to reduce inequality and provide help where it is needed. They have several international headquarters as well as a national presence. Their goals for young people in America is to get an education and improve their own lives and the lives of others by enhancing education through innovation.
The Gates Foundation also provides vaccines and other medicines to impoverished countries. Reaching out to fight infectious diseases, improve nutrition and specifically empower women and mothers. Overall, they wish to promote global development.
The donation reduces Gates’s shares to only 1.3 percent in his Microsoft software company.
Therefore, his overall donation to his foundation is more than $20 Billion worth of Microsoft shares. That’s $50 Billion dollars in cumulative endowments.
Although, it’s important to keep the money in the family. Certainly, the Gates family receives tax benefits from every philanthropic grant.
Technically, how much money goes into the hands of those, he targets with his foundation? Once again we have a case of money being used to generate more money for the wealthy to keep them on top.
Honestly, though, who knows what Bill and Melinda Gates true intentions are? They are getting up in years, and they might want to retire. Maybe the donation will be one of their last announcements. Mr. Gates is 61 and Melinda are 53. They have three children together and between them a life of great success.
Thank you, Bill Gates, for your monetary donations but even more for your wisdom.
