We all love nature, especially nice scenery filled with forest a view. The feeling, the tones of green, the fresh air etc...
There are numerous ecosystems happen to be in a forest as well, that add some kind of value to it. And if you think of it, a forest is primarily made of trees. All individual trees, together they create a value without giving up individuality and also still existing as community. I see it like, this interrelation makes a shelter to all other different formations within.
So the tree or the forest? What kind of similarity we can deduce, if we project the concept, to our human life?

Individual vs Community
From similarity point of view, at least i can deduce that we can not afford to leave behind, any of the two. We both need individuality and community. But what matters is, how to organize the interrelation between individuals to form healthy bonds within the community.

As a view point, I can say, even if we leave in a material world and our needs originate from materialistic aspects, almost all our needs are driven by our emotional states. To give an extreme example, suppose that you are a business person with rational behaviors from bottom to top. Living with analytics, and there is no room for casual or spontaneous events. Where is the emotion here? Well, i think there is the feeling of "safe" here. In the example, behaviors are backed-up by continuous need to feel safe!
Next, I want to share another view point: we can strengthen our interpersonal emotions to have high quality rational associations in business life.
Invest on relations
Aforementioned interpersonal emotions can be strengthened by some simple behavior patterns.
- Trying to understand the person we interact. Empathizing the situation. Realizing and accepting what is important to the other one.
- Trying to enrich our lives with small details, little kindnesses or gifts. Details are remembered at the end of the day. And it may spread exponentially. We can help positiveness to spread.
- Following our commitments. Our word, represents us. It can build trust. And people regards trust.
- Making our expectations clear. Sometimes there exist meaningless communication flaws, which are caused by lack of expression. Remember our thoughts and ideas are inexpressible by speech only.
- Keeping our inner integrity healthy. I think people feel more relaxed if the person in front, is a bit predictable, or has a character pattern. Also we communicate with people in the present time, not in the future or in the past.
- Apologizing whenever it is necessary and helpful. Well this is most known but most ignored part. Everybody knows how to apologize but very seldom does. We are humans and we will make mistakes. This is by our nature.
