I have been zen moving a lot of writing/content lately. It's my usual way of balancing out my energy by focusing on the process but not the outcome. Outcomes are benchmarks for gauging where the focus should be placed during the process.
I was doing some deep thinking, real macro stuff. My mind took me back to the dot com crash and early internet days. I came across a video I must have seen three or four times; it's of Jeff Bezos in 1999 talking about Amazon:
Aside from the fact he looks like that Nicholas Cage face meme here if you listen carefully, you can hear history subtly repeating itself.
The interviewer kept throwing the same question at Bezos about how his company fit in with this radical new thing called the "Internet." Bezos finally got tired and said: "INTERNET SHMINERNET!" - Bezos did not give a rats ass about how his company fit in with the internet; no, he focused on what mattered the most, customer service.
Bezos knew that it didnt matter how badass this new internet fad thing was, if it didn't help bring a better customer experience, it was worthless.
That brings me to the blockchain, and how everyone and their mother is trying to cram a square blockchain peg into a round hole (usually retail investor's asses) to try & grab every last dollar they possibly can.
Ask yourself: "Does blockchain make our user experience better?" - If the answer isn't a resounding, YES!!! then GTFO!
The internet is amazing, but if amazon.com weren't easy & convenient to use, it wouldn't have survived. Like with the internet, just because you're apart of the "blockchain revolution", doesn't mean you will be a big winner... didn't you hear the revolution isn't televised anyway?
The internet made Amazon what it is today because users can click a few buttons and have a package delivered to their front door.
Without the internet, you have catalogs and late night TV infomercials.

And the blockchain brings the same raw potential as the early internet did for businesses of all kinds. The age of tokenization, sovereign data, and abundance are upon us! But, just like with the potential of the early internet, our focus should be on the user experience first and build from there. Remember, BLOCKCHAIN, SHMINERCHAIN! The end user doesn't give a damn about your fancy tech; they care about enjoying your application.
Everyone has access to the same tools now; those that build easy to use badass apps/dapps could become the big thing!
Fully agree! This is why I moved away from steemit.com to steempeak.com.
This is also why I'm using a tool like SteemReply to engage with users (introduction post here). BTW, I would really love to see this tool merge into existing front-ends to avoid jumping from one site to another.
Steemreply has been buggy and slow for me lately. Is there a secret cure for that?

Please contact me on steem.chat or on Discord so we can have a look at what's going and fix it if required.
Good to know that door is open for SteemReply, I would so love to see it implemented in @Partiko! So going to pester @crypto.talk about this when he returns 😝

exactly keep focusing on the user experience until youve blurred the lines so much that they dont even know that they are using blockchain in the first place then you have a winner
Exactly, sometimes we need to look at the efficiency and consumer joy and satisfaction deprived from the blockchain, exactly as Jeff focused on certainty and not fancy or what would be internet worthy then the Amazon history wouldn't even be a prerequisite for what we mean today. We can't keep stressing that only time will make steem better, but some people just wants that perfection before they consider steem a prospect, which is totally lackadaisical and disheartening.
Extremely well stated, love that you referenced that interview! I have been saying the same damn thing since landing here, the simplest providing the most functionality will be the successor!

Good point.
The best blockchain is one that people don't realize exists.
I find myself posting and engaging on Steem, but consuming on Reddit. I like Steems potential and user engagement compared to reddit, but dislike it's lack of content.

Voice is having a similar content like STEEM have but we will might be get voice token of it. I don't know that will be tradable on which exchange later on or something like that.
And thing is going on with voice is they have some restriction in crypto space that they will not allow any bot spam something LIKE that let's see how it will be work later on.
Upvote and resteemit done sir..
So glad I started using steempeak, the ability to write post and save them to bookmarks a much needed addition to the platform 👍🤗
Blockchain SHMINERCHAIN is the believe in terms of yes. I think so that's whay all the steemian are here to do a great things with it. And hope for the best in next coming years.

OMG yessiree. Someone needs to tell the architects of EIP this. The problem isn't with financial incentives, it's that Steem is not easy for the average user. There aren't enough people on here and most people don't care if their 1 penny vote gives them back half a penny or a quarter penny. And ultimately, that's what steem should be like.
Folks should stop trying to make the system different and instead make the experience better.

That is right you have said here man.
It is another thing for a platform to be great, it is another thing for it to be in simple form for its user to understand and have a better experienced. Not complicated one
Indeed, it has become fancy to just add blockchain to everything without thinking of the customer. But i guess 2018 saw a lot of those projects die out and hopefully we're left with ones that actually make sense.

Large numbers of People stopped going to shopping malls for holiday shopping not because Amazon was the most sophisticated online retailer of its day, but they did so because it was easy. Amazon gift wrapped your presents and delivered them with a card from you. And if you didn’t like something for practically any reason, you returned it for a full refund and Amazon paid the shipping. In the words of Jeff Bezos whom you quote it’s the customer experience and customer service which lead to wide spread adoption.Hi @theycallmedan,
Steemit has taken strides or shall I say was founded with unique ideas which still make it stand out, starting with the account names being names and all the passwords for security. Steemit has s great system to make the adoption of the platform easier then the others. But even thought Steemit is far ahead of many of its competitors in the friendliness of its graphic user interface, the learning curve here is still very steep and it’s a constant deterrent to mass adoption.
We need to stop comparing ourselves to competitors with far worse graphic user interfaces and compare us to widely adopted platforms and build a graphic user interface that a child could figure out and then we will see our number of users swell.
Shortsegments
Well said. Sometimes it seems like companies use the term blockchain as a buzzword.
"What's trendy right now?"
"Umm blockchain?"
"Yes! Perfect. Let's add one to our business."
"Do we need one? I mean will it have a purpose?"
"Well no. But we can market the shit out if it."
"Great! Let's do it."

Great interview from Besos.
Dan I was wondering why don't first use 3speak as a livestream platform. Then transition to add video. This will bring you a larger userbase early on. Right now you are competing with Dtube which is harder.
Live streaming for 3Speak will be added soon, when it is up, I will be doing live streams.
Hi @theycallmedan, I am not yet sure if 3Speak is 'only' made for journalists, influencers, political activists, ... or also normal bloggers? I make videos about nature observations from time to time (for example showing a hornet eating a bee) or recorded my last blitz chess game. I guess 3Speak isn't meant for stuff like that, but I just want to be sure.
I fully understand if that is not the purpose of 3Speak.
Unfortunately at DTube videos doesn't work anymore after a few months, and even if most of the time my videos are non-political (I prefer to write when it's about politics as English isn't my mother tongue) they are really precious memories for me, which means I cannot use DTube, as well.
As of now I am using Bit.Tube (at least it's blockchain based and doesn't delete old videos), but of course would prefer a STEEM based solution. Do you have any suggestion?
3Speaks accepts all forms of content creators who have been demonetized/deplatformed. Apply on the site https://3speak.online/ and we will get back to you asap.
Thanks for your friendly reply! It's not that I am deplatformed, I am just seeking a way to post my videos on STEEM without them getting deleted after some months.
So I fear I don't qualify for using 3Speak, but I really like your idea to give these deplatformed content creators a new home and at the same time support STEEM.
May I suggest you market the website as a livestreaming platform (this is what is really missing on steem).
This should be ingrained in the UI, making it more similar to twitch than youtube.

its true,
if steem is super easy to use, people will use it.
it should be 100% intuitive. Like a 4 years old with an i phone. They know without a toturial how to use.
Thats what we need and patience.
its where all the application maker fails most of the time user experience is something to focus on
Always keep the user experience in mind. May you fully enjoy the project in which you are. We must see him pleased. That's the first thing to keep in mind. I love steem and I feel very good and I want to see it even better. Thank you for showing us this excellent publication where users like me learn a lot every day. A big hug.
Users are the ultimate market makers. One thing is important and that is don't focus too much about what will happen becauseit will happen anyway.@theycallmedan, The base will become big thing because
Steem can shine two ways most importantly and those aspects are Tokenization and Dapps. Different communities can educate themselves about the power of Blockchain and they will develop their communities and then they have opportunity to monetise their community and this way we will going to see Tree Of Communities which are Decentralised and Transparent with Blockchain Technology.
As you said Applications (Dapps), definitely will be a game changer, specially Mobile applications because if we see and observe then world is adopting more flexibility and Mobile Industries are trying to put everything in it, so it's vital to keep Android Applications on the list of development because otherwise adoption rate will crawl.
Have a wonderful time ahead brother and stay blessed.

I find myself in this moment satisfied and happy from the first day that I took the step of belonging and moving to steemit, a place that has become strong and with a great potecial to continue betting to see good profits in the future soon.
In my country (Venezuela) because of the economic crisis that many Venezuelans experience, including taking advantage of the profits we get from stemit to solve some things in our homes.
At this moment I am happy and satisfied with the application currently and even more so for what comes in the future.
Agreed Dan
That's what I'm going to do when this bull market really takes off to try and be more antifragile in my decisions regarding crypto.
effectively by virtue of making money no matter which project I’m on
Of course, I have read Black Swan and it has certainly shaped how I think about investment today. I believe that it must be a medium term,
You can speed up or slow down video on 3Speak, little icon on the bottom right of the video.
