Hi there :)
During my studies of occupational therapy we had a project called: metamorphosis. The task was to create something new out of something else. We were quite free how we interpret this. Goal was to dive into a creative process and let us lead from what was happening, without having a specific picture in mind. Usually I don't work much like this and have some particular ideas in mind. Now I did so too but I really invited me to try out and let errors determine new ways instead of stopping me, or getting messy.
The first idea was to make a lamp out of canned jars and other old recycling material. Which in fact I did, but how?
I really tried many things out, what did suit the light of candles? What did reflect, what didn't?
And here are some pictures of the process: :D
After a lot of experimenting:
But also how to fix the jars and the wood itself on a roof was an experimental process:
I drilled some holes to thread the cordals connected with the jars. And I found some hangers to take apart and use it to hang up the chains.
And with this hanger I fixes the chains on a ceiling with another hook.
... and in the eeend:
this was the result :D.
I really learned how to dive into a process and holding thru difficulties like my wood which was very soft and brittle. Or some varnish I used was really crumbly and I had to grind it all away and it didn't work so I just flipped the side xD.
Life is just like that. Dive into it, do what you can do and if you mess something up; try to fix it. And if it doesn't work - stay calm, trust and be kind to yourself.
Have a great day
Much Love
