I constructed this tulipiere out of wheelthrown parts, as well as small black clay coils, which I added texture to.
For this project my professor wanted us to push the envelope, to see what makes us uncomfortable in the wheelthrowing process, and to utilize those new learned skills in a wheelthrowing and constructing excercise; the final result needed to be able to hold more then one tulip bulb.
This project allowed me to go past boundaries I had not passed before, I learned how to make a large vessel like this that can hold flowers. Once it is fully fired I will post pictures of it with glaze dripping down it!
