Nairobi - Three rare and nearly extinct black rhinoceros, killed in a specially protected national park in Kenya. The culprit is the poachers.

It was reported by the Kenyan Wildlife Service (KWS) that two adult black rhinoceros and a black rhino were killed in Meru National Park on Wednesday night (2/5). The three rhinoceros died in a special racy enclosure of 83 square kilometers of rhinoceros. When found, the horns on the rhinos have been cut.

"With the weight of the day, we announce the illegal hunting of three rhinoceros last night ... at the Rhino Sanctuary in Meru National Park, where we lost two black rhinos and a child," KWS said via Twitter on Thursday (3/5) .

"The sound of gunfire was heard and the ambush was done at strategic points until this morning," said KWS in a statement. "Has not produced results," he added.

KWS said that the search by air and land on Thursday (3/5) local time, led to the discovery of three rhinoceros rhinoceros carcasses. "With the horn lost," said KWS.

The hunt for perpetrators is still ongoing. "There is no sign of the existence of a reported gang, but our team, both hiding and not, are still pursuing with good clues," KWS said in a statement.

Rhino horn is made of keratin, the same material as human hair and nails. Rhinoceros horn is highly sought in the Asian region, with many consumers believing the rhinoceros horn can recover a hangover or be used as an aphrodisiac.

KWS claims, rhinoceros and elephant hunt have been reduced in Kenya in recent years. Last year's report called 9 rhinoceros and 69 elephants dead in a wild hunter's tank. But Kenya remains an important source of illegal products distribution of wildlife smuggled through the ports of Mombasa and Nairobi Airport.

The Save the Rhinos group estimates that there are only 5,500 black rhinos in the world, with everything in Africa. The population of black rhinoceros in Kenya currently has 750 tails. In addition to the black rhinoceros, Kenya is also the habitat of the last two white rhinoceros on Earth, after a male white rhino was injected to death in March.
