Today Belarus marks a great holiday - Victory Day.
73 years ago the victory over fascism ended the most terrible war in the history of mankind.
The Belarusians suffered huge losses. During the Great Patriotic War, every third inhabitant of Belarus perished. There was not a single family left that the war did not touch.
But the Belarusians survived, passing through the hell of Nazi occupation and unthinkable atrocities committed by non-humans in the territory of the republic. And they did not just stand firm - they defeated the enemy thanks to the common impulse of the whole people to live freely on their land.
May 9 forever entered the hearts of Belarusians, both older and younger generations. The day when the Belarusians thank with all their heart the veterans - participants of the Second World War, those people, thanks to which Belarus has become a free, independent state.
This is really a "holiday with tears in my eyes" when the country remembers all its heroes who gave their lives for the descendants today living under the peaceful sky free and unconquered, realizing their dreams, implementing grandiose projects, developing a strong and prosperous Belarus.
