This morning my Wife and I were looking into “older” debates between presidential candidates. We chose the September 1960 debate between John Kennedy and Richard Nixon for comparison, what we saw kind of surprised and shamed us.
The second is rather long so be prepared.

Either of these two links will take you to a rather surprising segment and was instrumental in how the Country viewed both candidates. There was none of the very negative rhetoric that is quite common in today’s “popularity contests” which is nothing more than a means of collecting sound bites and clicks for Media companies to share your info with on the world market. Instead there was mutual respect shown by both Democrat and Republican candidates, there was no “Cat Calling” from the peanut gallery, there was no overt “mud slinging” going on.
Instead there was the opportunity for members of the entire public to get to know BOTH candidates, to see each of the other’s policy beliefs and make a rational decision on both past records and future policy belief.
Have fun, hope there is something valuable to you here. Mitch, out
