The Collective-Human Organism
One of the most complex associations that can be identified with is the individual's place within the collective body of humanity. It seems as if we are small and insignificant in the scheme of things. Our individuality makes it hard for us to see past the identity of self to see how the "collective-human organism" encompasses all 7.5 billion of us, and we are the moving parts within that bodily structure. History shows us that individual people can come along, once in a while, that move a mindset within the organism which inadvertently, moves the organism in a new direction. These individuals change the observational point about a social injustice or a held mindset, which gives a newfound approach to how to extinguish whatever has been identified as a restrictive element within that dynamic.
But, how do we, individually, fit into that mechanism? I like to imagine it like this... If you can visualize a pool of water, first. Now, visualize a pebble being thrown into that pool. Do you see the ripples that pebble made? Now, imagine that instead of one pebble, you threw a pebble for every person who is alive today. Roughly seven and a half-billion pebbles. Do you see the size of the pool that is needed? Each of those pebbles is a person who interacts with the rest of the pebbles by way of those ripples and waves. The pool is the collective-human organism for which we are all moving parts for. Some of us make bigger waves than others, yet we all contribute to the higher identity of that of the collective-human organism.
There is a shared identity that conforms to us all. These norms cross all societal and cultural lines and are values that we are pulling from a shared consciousness that is available to all of us by way of our abstract thought processes. Everything that the organism has experienced is held there in a collective body of memory. This is, of course, my take on the uncanny ability for one human to ingest and experience a totally unique set of events to land at a new mindset, only to find that many of their ideas are not new, but a collection of previously unknown works by a group of unknown contributors. I have seen this scenario play out over and over again in life. I believe there is a shared consciousness that each of us are connected to, and through practice, we can all pull information from on an unlimited range of topics. It is all there, and at your disposal.
The key is identity. Identity is the key to this existence. It drives all decision-making. One would react to a threat, if they identified as an individual, differently than they would if they identified as a human. You see, the collective-human perspective means that we are all one organism, so even a serious threat of life or death would still mean that the organism would live on. I believe that even through death, we live on within this conscious-field that exists at the level of the collective-human organism.
Now, look at the division that exists within the collective-human organism. Do you see the compartmentalization? Do you see how identity drives this division? Social and cultural norms align us with parts of the organism, but are contrary to other parts. “Western, eastern”, are all ways in which we describe the first order of division. Language keeps this division persistent within the organism by keeping open lines of communication closed to all commonality shared between orders of identity; preventing competing identities from aligning.
The subdivision of the collective-human organism becomes increasingly smaller in scope, but it is important to note that all identities held, are competing over control of the organism. Beyond just “eastern and western” comes the nationalistic identity. Identifying on this scale is both dangerous and powerful. Imagine a populace who did not question the actions of their leadership. Self-denial is rampant within lines of identity. Taking credit for when the country does “right” and distancing that identity for whenever the actions of the country does “wrong”, are indications of how identity is relatable to this deniability. As discussed earlier, the concepts of “right” or “wrong” are subjective in nature, and represent two competing concepts, vying for approval.
Populaces of the nationalistic identity are further subdivided within a myriad of smaller, more compact forms of identity. This multi-faceted approach ensures that the populace is never fully able to identify as their true form as this subdivision only allows for a unique combination of identities to feed the smallest order of identity of “self”. We all feel unique due to the institution of identities that exist for which we all align. Two of us may align on most of the identities possible, but there are always lines of deviation when the plethora of possible identities are further analyzed.
As previously mentioned, the identity you hold dictates your interpretation of your surroundings and directly contributes to your reaction towards your environment. We seemingly have little control over our environment, but can have an enormous impact on the rest of humanity. I say this only to show you that we are all interconnected in a larger context, and one that is very necessary for the construct of the collective-human organism. Identity drives actions, which causes reactions from the world around you. Now, I will attempt to describe the “collective-organisms” from which identity dictates reactions and how some of these man-made constructs have taken on a life of their own.
The Governmental-Organism
For every nationalistic identity that exists, there also exists a separate, competing identity of that of the government. The nationalistic-identity is separate from the identity of government. The governmental-organism is comprised of civil servants and elected officials that are charged with carrying out the task of implementing and enforcing the “will of the people”. That is how this organism begins to take shape. It is important to note that these organisms that are created have an intended purpose that, at the time of their creation, seems to be beneficial for the rest of the populace. Just like any man-made mechanism, once you introduce fuel to the organism, it seems to take on a life of its own. In terms of the governmental-organism, that fuel consists of a series of policies and regulations for which causes a cause and effect relationship between it and the populace it is charged with governing.
The organism itself is reactionary to its environment. Its actions are limited to the input received from the elected officials for which implemented plans for changing the policies, laws, and regulations, which causes the organism to morph on a continual basis. The fluidity of this and all organisms are dictated by outside influences causing the organisms themselves to remain in a constant state of flux. This makes the identity of some of the organisms at the smaller-scale, harder to identify, in some cases. The larger the organism, the more slowly it reacts to its environment, and the governmental-organism is no exception to this rule. Sometimes the governmental-organism reacts frustratingly slow to the ever-changing social environment for which it is charged with governing.
Multiple heads steer every governmental-organism that exists. Competing energies clash at the law-making stage of forceful change. The members take individual stances on social issues and push agendas that matter to their constituents. Favors are paid forward, and corruption is inevitable. Even the elected “leaders” for these governmental apparatuses are typically powerless to affect change on any grand scale due to the competing checks and balances that exist within most governmental bodies.
When I look at the governmental-organism for which controls America, I see a defunct, poorly designed system where corruption is not only rampant, but the very nature of the organism is dependent upon some degree of quid pro quo. The costs associated with running for one of these elected positions is prohibitive for most Americans, leaving only those that come from the “right” mold to actively participate in governance. The rich run the governmental system, and the poor follow whatever laws result from electing the “lesser of two evils” every couple of years. This leads up to the following portion of this book, where I will focus on the political apparatus and how our individual political stances dictate alignment and allegiance to another level of identity with the construct of the political-organism.
This is a writing segment for The Codex Primum. These writings are created on this platform and I intend on publishing the finished product somewhere in the future. I am a writer by trade, but these beliefs are where I have found myself. I hope you enjoyed the mental exercise this hopefully evoked, and hopefully this provoked a new train of thought, if even for just a moment. Look for more to come in the following days, and follow me. I want to share this journey with whoever is willing to listen...

Excellent article !
An interesting way of looking at it all, I particularly like the ripples in a pond analogy....
