You have higher amount of Hive Power?

Try Hive power down.

Why?

Because Hive power down is a gift to see who really loves you and your content, and who needs only your upvote.

Probably you will filter out the 90% (or maybe even more) of the people.

Sort:

That would only filter out those who don't actually care about me. I get plenty of real engagement, but I had to work for it. I'll be socialising in Split this week.

Have a great time in Split! Maybe find @forkyishere and see if he has a cap 😄

I'd like to meet him. I've seen a few photos of the people already there. It's going to be fun.

There are quite a few there I'd like to meet, you and him included.

I was planning to go, but ran into some obstacles that prevented me from going 😔

That would only filter out those who don't actually care about me.

Exactly and obviously. With a low amount of Hive Power, only those people remain, who actually truly care either about you, or about your content.

I get plenty of real engagement, but I had to work for it.

On a properly working social network, you do not have to work for it at all, because people are there actually for the content. They naturally, genuinely write the comments.

Nowadays I very rarely comment under other people's posts, because I spend very little time online, but in the proper Facebook groups (even in smaller groups), I always receive real comments, even if I do not write comments under other people's posts at all.

And nowadays I also more and more rarely write blog posts too.

I wrote only two blog posts on the Hive blockchain in the previous seven days.

Mostly I write for myself. Usually there are no content consumers on this platform.

I simply do not have time for a not working platform.

I rather spend my time with those, who actually love and care about me (real, physical community).

If you have to work for engagement, then you are (currently we are) on a not properly working social network.

You keep using this word 'proper', but what does that even mean? Hive is not like other social media in many ways. Moaning that it's not like FB that's full of annoying ads and 'suggested content' gets you nowhere. Their main advantage is sheer numbers. They have groups with more active users than Hive. Or it could be like Twtr that's run by an extremist troll billionaire. I know what I prefer. You get out what you put in and I'm not purely driven by money.

I am disappointed that Hive is still this small after over eight years. It has to compete for attention with others who have a marketing budget. We grow by word of mouth. You have to decide if it is worth your time.

Proper, when people naturally, genuinely use the platform, and actually care about the content.

This is visible even in the smallest Facebook group.

Not only the sheer numbers.

Even the smallest Facebook groups (like a few hundred members) have more interaction than the Hive blockchain in general.

You get out what you put in and I'm not purely driven by money.

Me neither. The monetary rewards are joke. The cents are not worth the stress. I earn more with a few hours of physical work than with an entire month of Hive blogging.

The number of the Hive users is actually quite satisfying. But they are mostly content creators. The content consumers are very rare. And often even the so called content creators are not care about the content.

They focus so much on the monetary aspect that they forget (do not even care) about the content. And the automatic upvotes/downvotes are making it even worse. Many people blindly (literally without even seeing the contents) vote on the contents.

This is how they ruin an otherwise technologically revolutionary platform.

The platform itself is revolutionary. But most of the users are not grown up to it. Most people just want to take out the most (as much as) rewards they can.

I have to say that you keep repeating yourself. We know what the issues are and we need solutions. Suggest something. No, they are not going to change things like rewards or ban auto-voting.

Human nature is hard to change and people will be driven by money, but a lot of Hivers do think like me. Some of them will be at Hivefest. Some have paid to travel across the world for it, possibly paid for by rewards.

There's some very nice content here, but it doesn't always get the support it deserves. Find stuff you like and vote on it. Creators appreciate comments too.

Just have fun with it rather than getting stressed out.

Many Hive users visibly force themselves to write comments.

One of them admittedly did it by writing that he is really tired after writing 150 comments in one day. Many people see this as a challenge.

And many people do it under the posts of people with higher amounts of Hive power.

Most people do it only to get upvotes to their own posts/comments, and get attention to their own posts. Really hard not to get stressed out seeing and experiencing this.

The general lack of the natural usage, and the general lack of the real content consumers is what really stressing out on this platform.

And I am not the only one writing it. Multiple people wrote about it, even in the recet past. And many people left the platform because of this.

And even many of the so called content creators themselves do not actually care even about their own content.

So I really do not need to go far to get stressed out on this platform.

Well do 'natural' commenting yourself and don't worry about what others do. Crap comments that are mass produced won't get votes from me.
