they tried something with zappl. not sure what happened there. shame. I guess when there's better infrastructure to support blockchain storage etc, there will be a steem twitter. Check out what RLC coin (iExec) are doing for ethereum in terms of infrastructure...

The character limit of a Twitter like social network really limits what you can do.
Its hard to make a valuable post with only 240 characters. This essentially makes it a popularity contest. Not a good reward model utnfortuneately.

ya. i don’t think it would work exactly like twitter does. but micro blogging and bite sized chunks of content could always do well.

Yeah the main problem would be those microblogs pulling a bunch of the reward pool away from actual bloggers.
Perhaps we'll see a microblog SMT. It would make more sense with its own token.
