The Banana Tree in my Yard with a Pod and Fruit! treetuesday

in #treetuesday7 years ago (edited)

The banana tree in my yard is doing great! It has always been pretty and gives good shade, but look at it now:

The tree is sheltered from the wind and gets good sun and water where it grows. It looks like all of that is paying off now. I’m hoping for a good banana harvest soon.

I submit this post for #treetuesday initiated by @old-guy-photos. I took this photo with my cell phone which is a LG K20 Plus.

You first want to soak it in salt water to get rid of the sap. Oh, and we add vinegar.Yes!!! You can eat the flower - did you know that? The @kitchenfairy has a recipe where she steems it and eats it with peanut sauce. I cook it with onions and garlic and add potatoes, green beans and coconut milk.

Hi Marianne - Sorry to be so late in replying. I did not even think of the idea of eating the flower! I am just watching the bananas closely.

Your recipe sounds and amazing and I know I would love it. And I pretty much like anything with peanut sauce.

no worries. I started a Steemit Meetup.com group. details later :)
