Graded level 3 - 4, rafting at Padas river was one of the most thrilling adventure I've ever experienced in my life!
As early as 5am, our group gathered at one of the local coffee shops for breakfast while waiting for our coach to transfer us to Beaufort Railway Station which is a 2 hours journey from the city centre. Once we arrived at the railway station located in Beaufort town, all of us were excited as it was our first time riding the old school diesel train that will be transporting us to the rafting starting point known as Pangi.
By 11am, our nerves were tingling with excitement as we geared up and got ready to face the ultimate rapids of Padas river. Before going to "war", we were given a safety briefing conducted by a professional river guide. The whole experience took a whopping 2 hours for us to get through 12 exhilarating rapids before finally reaching the ending point!
Once we reached the ending point, we freshened up before enjoying the local lunch buffet prepared for us. The whole time till our rides back home our mouths just couldn't stop telling each other about our fun-filled experience.
Looks very nice. Is exciting to see people do rafting!!!
Highly recommended if you ever visit Sabah! If you're up for the long journey and extreme rafting, Padas River is the place to be. However, if you're looking for a similar thrill at a short amount time, you could check out Kadamaian River too!
