First thing I noticed when we arrived was the amazing view from the terrace area overlooking the sea, another island, hotels and accommodation by the beach... It's something I really enjoyed and appreciated all the time while we where there and tried to take in as much beauty as I could!
This table was where we spent majority of our time when we were at the house. This is where we were eating, drinking coffee (especially the first morning ones), where we enjoyed the view of the sea and sunsets in the evening, where we planned our days, had drinks before going out...
I don't really have photos of the rooms but here is how the living room looked like and our main entrance door. Great thing is we could access terrace from the main door and through the kitchen door as well. Accommodation had three bedrooms, one living room, two bathrooms and we had a set of table and chairs in the living room, kitchen and terrace which was amazing!
When we arrived, we were welcomed by the owner of the house who was very kind and friendly. Some of my 6friends already stayed here two years ago so it was a nice reunion for them! Parents of the landlord lady live upstairs and as soon as we arrived her mom brought us freshly baked, hot pastry filled with cheese and basil - I loved it! We also had a bottle of wine and a watermelon waiting for us and these small details are something I always highly appreciate. It can be the smallest thing, it doesn't matter, what matters is the act of hospitality and kindness.
One of my friends who loves Greece brought a flag and we were proud to put it up. With blooming roses, amazing view and a flag, we made a very nice scenery that we enjoyed a lot.
Here are some photos while having morning coffee. Sometimes I made two because cups were smaller than I'm used to, haha. I was thinking about getting a cup as a souvenire but I have so many cups at home, I literally don't have space for new ones. Now that I am back home, I have to admit I regret not having one for my morning coffee's at home. But that means I have to go back to Crete, that's what I've been telling myself as comfort. :)
Since we had a fully equipped kitchen, we could sometimes make food at home. For the entire two weeks we had a rented car (some days we would get another one) so we could also go to Lidl to buy food for the fridge, mainly for breakfast. Most of us ate breakfast at home before going to the beach and we would always have lunch at the beach bar/street gyros and dinners would depend on our mood - sometimes we made it at home and sometimes we went out to restaurants to eat. On the right photo you can see another gift from our host's mom, I am not sure how it's called but it's pretty much like small doughnuts covered with honey, cinnamon and sesame seeds. It is very sweet but I liked it!
One day our older hosts showed us their puppies and parrots and we instantly fell in love! They have open backyard without gates so we could enter to check up on the little ones, pet then and play with them. They have one dog named Lakis, two other dogs who are mom and dad of the seven puppies and ten parrots!
Every day we would pass by this small church on our way to the main road and there's also a lot of these very vibrant pink or purple flowers that look so pretty!
This was the most epic, the most breathtaking sunset during our stay! I am one of those people who will never stop admiring sunsets and this one was just incredible. It looked even more beautiful in person but photos turned out pretty cool as well.
Now that it has been 11 days since I am back from Greece and the impressions have settled down a little bit, I can say it was truly an amazing experience! We were lucky to have a great place to stay, close to the beach, with everything we could need from kitchen appliances to the clothes iron, incredible hosts with a true spirit of Greek hospitality. I really hope I will get a chance to stay here again!
