7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge – Australian Monday week #20 – winner announcement!
@mibreit-photo Australian Monday entry:
The spectacular view from the top of Roy's Peak on New Zealand's south island. It's 1400meters up from the car park just a few miles outside of Wanaka. I was up there for sunset and was the only person staying in the freezing November winds. It was great to have such a view for myself :-)

One of my favorite trips I've taken over the last few years was to Israel last June. Tel Aviv is located on the western coast of Israel and borders the Mediterranean Sea. For my first trip here, I decided to book a hotel right along the boardwalk and the ocean. It's a decision I'm so happy I made. Every night I was treated to views like this when I stepped out of my hotel room.
This is a shot of the 2007 grounding and subsequent helicopter evacuation of 22 Filipino and Korean crew members form the Pasha Bulker of Newcastle (2 hours north of Sydney) Australia and a very angry Pacific Ocean. Record ocean swell heights of 14.13m (46ft) were recorded at the deep water buoy 10km (6.2 miles) off Sydney

Wow, what a moment captured! The splashes... can’t believe I was swimming in the same sea by Newcastle...
Yes it was a wild few days.
Wow what an amazing storm that was. Caught some of the most insane waves of my life that swell! Good memories :)
Yes the waves were epic
Fantastic entry!
Thanks
To see icebergs in Greenland is the dream of many people. For our freedivers team this was also the purpose of our trip. But on the tops of the icebergs, we certainly did not stop. We became one of the first people in the World who saw the beauty and grandeur of the underwater part of the ice giants
Wow love this!
Wow! That really is something out of this world!
For a diver, there is nothing more desirable than seeing a huge shadow appearing in the water. Whale sharks, manta rays, whales ... They represent the ocean itself. On a dive, you always peer into the distance. Sometimes you're lucky. Then you have to swim with all your might. Because the slowness of the sea giants is an illusion. They are almost not moving to leave you far behind.
Indian Ocean.
Amazing capture... we have these magnificent creatures at Isla Holbox here in Mexico, I think I will book the tour :)
Mexico is a dream)
There are many places where you can swim with whale sharks. But in one place there are a lot of them. As far as I know in the season, hundreds of sharks gather near the island Mujeres.
You are right, Isla Mujeres (the Island of Women :D) is also known for abundant marine life :) I wish I had your skills and equipment man... it was just yesterday when I was swimming with green sea turtles, saw a giant purple ray, barracudas and much more... you have an amazing job/hobby Andrey ;)
What an image, what a creature! You do have some amazing encounters in your life! Well done. Tomas
It's great that you chose an underwater photograph at this stage)
@czechglobalhosts @photofreediver is my good friend (his name is also Andrew). We often travel and dive together.
Another winter shot from the frozen Baltic Sea coastline. This time from Curonian spit at colourful sunset. Low angle point with ultra wide angle lens making the perspective very interesting. And wit a small silhouette of a man far away...
Nice contrast of cold and warm
Enjoy it!
https://steemit.com/photofeed/@axeman/7rhpxb-ice-age
Nice view. .
Your pics from Baltic never disappoints!
Just imagine if i would travel to real Antarctica :D
The rain is coming from the northern Australian sea to the land and I'm contemplating this seascape with its wonderful shades and colours.
Later there will be a firework of lightning in the sky as every night during rain season... What a show!!!
Location: Darwin, Australia.
Simply Wow!!
Thank you my friend :)
Amazing colors! Again I put Darwin on the top of my list :) So close yet so far...
You definitely should visit Darwin, it is a spectacular place for unrealistic sunset sighting
What the colors! Splendid!
:) thank you
A shot taken just after the sunset somewhere in the Lofoten Islands. The Lofoten Islands are located in the Norwegian Sea, above the Arctic Circle and features incredibile landscape of majestic mountains, deep fjords and great opportunity to spot the northern lights.
I love the colors of your image. Splendid. Have a great day and keep on steeming. Tomas
We didn't see a whole lot of sun whilst we were in Antarctica, but when it did come out, the sky lit up with beautiful warm hues and the sunlight hit the ice on the water and illuminated it in a brilliant blue.
Lovely pic! Have a great day. Tomas
Cape St. Vincent
The lighthouse of Cabo de São Vicente was about 6 km from our base in Sagres. Driving to the lighthouse, I have noticed the changes in the weather. A storm was coming. On the cape the wind was such strong, so I hardly could stay in place. The waves was big and powerful. While I was gazing at the waves, the light had changed, the sun hid behind a cloud, and the very strong sunbeams pierced the sky. Absolutely ethereal moment!
Wow, another amazing image of yours! Fabulous entry. Tomas
Thank you Tomas! I like to participate in your contests. There are such the great photos from around the worlds and amazing photographers to follow.
I haven’t been to the Antarctica, so I’m sharing a photo of massive blue ice and mountains that I took during the trip to Grey Glacier in southern Chile. This glacier is part of the Southern Patagonian Ice Field, the world’s second largest contiguous ice field outside of the poles.
I really wanna go here 😉 .. it’s already on my bucket list! Was it really cold here ?
Yes it was cold, and incredibly windy! :)
That is a spectacular image indeed! Tomas
Thanks Tomas!
Another one from Portland, Maine, but this time you can't see the lighthouse (it's just off frame). I thought there was something magical about this particular sunset, and a long exposure heightened the dreamy feel.
What an image! Spectacular. Tomas
Thank you! :)
Behind the scenes of wave photography...
Watching, feeling and capturing the energy of raw Indian Ocean swell as it hits a shallow sand bar is a powerful experience. I took 2 attempts at taking this kind of shot underwater with no idea how they would turn out. Once again nature does its thing - creating these beautiful, perfect cylinders!
Thanks again for hosting Tomas! :)
This is off the coast of NSW, near the Sea Cliff Bridge just over an hour drive from Sydney. On a windy day like this, you can see massive waves battering the cliffs on the coast. Yet it does not stop surfers going in for a refreshing surf.
Such a cold photo.
View of Playa Paraiso in Tulum from the famous Tulum Ruins. The ruins rank among the most important and visited ancient Mayan sites in Mexico but as you can see in the photo, Tulum also boasts breathtaking beaches and crystal clear turquoise sea.
Beautiful! Was there too, crystal clear water 💦 and really hooooot... more breeze than the jungle nearby though ;)
Sharing a photo we took at Newcastle in New South Wales, Australia. We stayed at this lovely home and right in our front yard was the ocean. We would sit there watching the sunset and enjoying the peacefulness around us, listening to the sound of the water. Its great to get away from our normal busy city life.
The Atlantic ocean coast, photographed near Porto Covo, a little village located in the southwest Alentejo, the largest region in Portugal, which occupies almost the entire southern half of the country...
awsome photografhy bro great work 😊
In octobre 2016 i travelled with my girlfriend from Berlin to Sardinia 🛫. We stayed at a nice little Hotel at Porto San Paulo near the city of Olbia. Till yet I didn't travelled soo much, but it can tell that it was the most beautiful place I've ever been. Amazing beaches everywhere, nice people and of course the fantastic Italian food 😍 We will definitely come back to see the rest of this beautiful island.
Spiaggia di Lu Impostu

Here's my entry for 7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge - Tuesday of Antarctica and world´s oceans @ czechglobalhosts
I captured this image when i was in Wellington , New Zealand. Im not sure with the name of the place, but the geo tag said it's Eve Bay. If any Steemians know, feel free to let me know. I really love how colorful is the ocean. Eventhought it's all the same water, but both the depth of the ocean and what's below the water, it can make the water color looks different. It's amazing :)
Beautiful image of the bay! Vivid colors as always :) I have to visit New Zealand!
Yes you should @itchyfeetdonica 😉 it really is a beautiful place
I took this photo in March 2017 at the Surin Beach on the beautiful island of Phuket, in Thailand. We had a wonderful time on the beach and enjoyed this great view towards to the Andaman Sea in the Indian Ocean. The Island of Phuket is located in South Thailand.

Beautiful. The colors look stunning.
In my opinion, you are a reliable photographer
Cancún is a city in southeastern Mexico in state Quintana Roo. It is an important tourist destination in Mexico. The city is on the Caribbean Sea.There are significant Mayan ruins here, such as El Rey and the Yamil Lu’um.
A storm that passed through in the early hours of the morning. Shot from Murrays Beach in Jervis Bay the storm front was moving out to sea and north up to Sydney. The lump in the distance is Bowen Island.
Some of the loudest lightning strikes i've ever heard. Might have been because it was so quiet and peaceful otherwise... not sure.
When i was leaving, as i thought the storms had finished. There was a sudden strike very close by, probably about 1/2 a kilometer out from where i was setup. This encouraged me to turn around and head back to take more photo's!
As i reached the end of the path and was walking out onto the beach again this huge strike hit the water what would have been no more than 50m in front of me. I must have jumped about 20m in the air and was pretty shook up when i hit the ground again. ;)
Very quickly, one might say instantaneously, i decided that it was too dangerous and that i was happy with the photo's i had. I hastily made my way back to the car, lightning cracking all around, at which time the rain started pouring down.
In the end i was glad the storm told me to go home after all. :)
Hi! I am glad to see you back here. It has been a while. I do love your image but it is a little bit off the topic. I did add the world's oceans since not many people have pics from Antarctica but yours is just little too much inland. Thank you for your participation though. I certainly hope to see you back. Thank you for your understanding. Tomas
No problems Tomas :) Hopefully have something for you on Monday!
this is my original photo when visiting the beach boh itek masen, indonesia. sorry my photo make black and white version for more elegant plasticity.
Hi! What a lovely image. However, it is short of minimum 30 word description and cannot be considered for the challenge. Thank you for your understanding. Tomas
hi @czechglobalhost this is my original photograph in portrait by my wife, actually we want to take pictures together because the situation is lonely nobody passing by, we decided to take photo turns, this photo was taken in switzerland when we honeymoon.
this is my photo when i was on Manok island Indonesia. A magnificent sight, with clean, clear and clear water without any trash. It's nice to be here with a swim in this sea that has a charm of extraordinary beauty. Has amazing views of the marine park. You who want to enjoy the beauty can start with snorkeling or diving. Later you can find a variety of fish that are colorful and beautiful, and also a cluster of coral reefs that lie under the sea.
The most beautiful scenery or moment when we visit the beach is at the sight of the sunset.
Photos when I visited the island of Komodo, many do not know, other than famous for komodony, Komodo Island also has a beautiful natural panorama, one of which is the island of Komodo dragons.
A very good post and very interesting, I like what you do this. thank you for sharing for all of us.

I took this photo on my flight from the South to the North across my country - Vietnam. My country is famous for its incredible nature and long coastline. I like how green it is and the shapes of these islands are incredible <3
Beautiful birdview! You are right - I was impressed by the natural beauty of your country when visiting it. :)

Today’s entry is photo taken from an airplane… It is a shot of Indian ocean, shore of Seychelles. We flew from main island Mahe to smaller island Praslin. I hope you will like combination of shallow water, deep water, coral reef, propeller, eagle logo… Just a mixture of everything 😊
