Hi everyone!
It was really nice reading entries from those who joined the contest. Some wrote about grief of a deceased loved one, some wrote about memories behind the toys of people they used to know, and others wrote about the most chilling encounters with the toys that haunt them. Now it's time to announce the winners of the Haunted Toys Contest 👻!
A RECAP ON THE PRIZE POOL
The total post rewards will be split as follows:
👻First prize - 40% of total post rewards
👻Second prize - 25% of total post rewards
👻Third prize - 15% of total post rewards
In addition, three honorable mentions will also be given 3% each.
1ST PLACE
Florence the baby doll (haunted toys) by @tarotbyfergus
Unsettling, unnerving with a little hint of mystery as well. Florence, the haunted doll is not only a sweetheart to her owner, but also has a creepy but sweet story to tell about her owner's mom.
"I asked her what her name was, and I just knew that it was Flo,(short for Florence) although sometimes I call her Rose. The first thing I did when I brought her home was to do a tarot reading about her and sit her down with my Ovilus Spirit box. This was an interesting session, as the Ovilus was very chatty and it freaked out when I tried to touch it at 2:15. After that, it would freak out whenever I thought of turning it off."

2ND PLACE
She died and was left in my toys by @phderoes
Grief has a different way of letting us know it came for a visit when we keep the mementos our departed loved ones left for us:
"...the bond that binds my spirit to my aunt is not very easy to explain, I loved her very much and shared many things with her, she was my second mother, my friend , my aunt, my teacher perhaps, the fact was that she died 14 years ago and almost 15 and I still have her present with me, in my dreams, in my things and in my thoughts."

Sentimental value hits different when it comes to our grandparents. Even our oldest and broken toys become our most prized possession if it keeps their memories alive:
"It is of great sentimental value because you don't always receive a gift and I don't let them take it for the state it is in. Sometimes I would like to go back in time and enjoy even more those moments that are gone and that I know will not come back. I am one of those who believe that all toys and stuffed animals have strange powers in people, either by their appearance or shape"
