All ye faithful Steemians have been reaping the rewards and will continue to do so throughout 2018 and beyond, IMHO. Steemit has already proven it is here to stay and the price is finally beginning to reflect that. I think the recent bounce in price has a lot to do with the high price of Steem Backed Dollars. They are trading at about $15 per SBD right now, which leads people to want to power up, as the greater Steem Power you have, the more SBD you can earn. That along, with the recent inflow of money into the cryptocurrency realm in general has created the right environment for Steem to begin it's rally. It has been due for a correction for some time.
I consider it a top-10 Market Cap Cryptocurrency, due to sheer transaction volume, the devout following, and the established platform. It's also a no-brainer application for the Blockchain Ecosystem and Steemit doesn't really have comparable competition in this space at all. It has been lagging as other Cryptos have begun to make their run in response to Bitcoin's legendary rise. Steem is due and it seems to be beginning. Tips for this time include steeming regularly, powering up if possible, and increasing your immersion in the platform as a Social Media/Social Blogging platform. The more Steem you earn now, the more you'll have when it is worth $20, a price point I'm predicting AT LEAST by the end of 2018, and it wouldn't surprise me at all if it is the case by June 2018! This just sucks! I sold all my Steem yesterday at an ATH of around $3.14 thinking I could buy it back at the next dip (WHICH I MISSED!). Went down to $2.50 then recovered and hasn't looked back since. Man my ass is sore!
Haha I have been there my friend! My new strategy is to have a certain 'go long' fund and then I can try to time the market with extra cash. It is HARD to know in Crypto-land when/if there will be another dip for a long time once a BIG run up starts! Personally, I'd get back in soon if I were you (and decide if you want to try and time on this one)! But, best wishes and hopefully it works out for you! :)

I've been there. I sold 900 EOS a week and a half ago when it first hit 4.87, which was its highest since its inception. Its now at over 11 a piece. Hurts but you can get it back. Trade right, watch the market and you'll be fine.

@good-karma asked for steem predition comes 2018 my asnwer was, $15 - 20. I don't know if mine was crazily high. Steemit has a way of attracting people into the system and people would want to invest more especially when it's promising.

Great points on Steem! I'm not sure the SMT factor is fully reflected in the price yet. I believe SMT's will be very beneficial to Steem in the future!

Ah, yes, I didn't even think about SMTs this morning, but a platform for development and an ecosystem that branches out into other projects will absolutely be reflected in the price and it will be positive for Steem! :)
