thank you @willymac for taking the time read the post.

i agree that the experts know what they are doing and will not unncesseraly harange you with stuff that you dont like. But in their eagerness to suggest what you may like they end up intruding into your personal domain.

We have spent a decade listening to people like Google or Facebook telling us what we should be receptive to. It is time we take it back and let them know in no uncertain terms that we are absolutely sure of what we want to receive. we must demand that technology keeps up with our requirements as precisely as possible.

If i am constructing a house for the next 6 months, then i want ads about raw materials during that time. Once the house is finished, i want it all to magically go away.

Internet being what it is, we deserve better than what we got on TV

I would prefer that no one profiles me and makes suggestions on what they think I may want. If i have expressed a positive interest in something, okay; if I have not, then don't assault me with suggestions because it is more likely to turn me against anything you promote.

And, like you, when my need is met, let me notify the profilers through a "need met" response to an ad that my need has been met and I am no longer interested.

That would make their ads more targeted and my screen more valuable since I have a proven interest in solicited or previously accepted products.

Just because I google a specific kind of cat, don't assume that I am eager to buy one! (Happened last week.)

One reason I keep my FB account is to tell them I hate everything they advertise on my page. It my be ineffective but it skews my profile and that makes it fun.
