I am a Substratum fan. Been right from the moment I heard about the project. Decentralizing the internet is kind of like healing the internet. The internet is a medium of information access and availability. Even if we in the western countries doesn't have the big problems with that, that's really another story in other parts of the world. And primarily the places where it is really needed. So it's kind of the opposite of controlled information that the world atm are suffering greatly from.
Originally, the Substratum node was going to be a node you could run on your PC when you where not using the computer yourself. Earning SUB by being part of a hosting network. Providing cheaper hosting services, as well as giving access to these sites to whomever wanted to visit them. No matter what the country you are in had placed of limitations.
Well and good. It's a good idea. Cheaper and better, that's what customers like. But then again, how about adaptation? Well, Substratum do have some funds to marketing. But, with this new information, my claim is that they might not even need it....
Substratum CEO, Justin Tabb. One rare breed of the kind that you simply know are not bullshitting. Very likeable.
So why? What's new? Well, they have been developing their product in a genius way that will provide Substratum with what I would call "the Google adaptation factor". Everybody that runs a node will be having a "VPNless VPN". Hiding out in the open so to speak. So by running a node you will have far better security on your browsing, and access to all websites on the web. How genius is that? I believe that accessing geographical limited content like Netflix, HBO and so on will be of the past as well, that's a guess with my limited technical understanding.
Basically Substratum might become a synonym with the web itself. Who would want to be on the web without a Substratum node? The technical solution is incredibly positive itself, but there is another aspect to it that might even be as good or even better. The teams innovation and technical ability's are by this proven to be masterlevel. We can be confident that these guys will be adding to the product and service to add more value and to improve the experience.
The aware investor might be thinking; why should the value of SUB increase when anobody can just earn free SUB running the node? Simply because you earn more SUB by running the node by holdning more SUB. :) So running of selling them as fast as you earn them would be a bad thing if you want to mine SUB.
Note: this is not something that will appear in like version 3 or 4. They are launching this in version 1. How cool is that?
I've had Sub for about 2 months and regret selling 90% of it a couple weeks ago haha, Sub has such a strong future.
Think compeditors will be having a really hard time with this feature of Sub-node.
Honestly, SUB is far beyond all their competitors.
I love the coin and the idea and the team... there are just too many coins nowadays that I love to keep track of HAHA
