Follow your dream

Today I had a day an epiphany that brought me back to my childhood years. I posted this on my Instagram and Facebook business account, however, I wanted to share this story with you as well - a longer version though :)

Going back in time

When I was about 3 years old my parents always tried to persuade me to wear a skirt. As you can see in this picture I wasn't much of skirt type of a girl and till this day I still love jeans, jeans, and more jeans. Ok, I do wear skirts, thus you could say once a jeans girl, always a jeans girl. Do you think my parents were successful in persuading me to wear cute little skirts? Well, NOT. They even tried to use that old-fashioned spanking and failed. I was stubborn and persistent with my choice of wardrobe and wearing skirts wasn't on my menu at the time. My NO was loud and clear and my parents finally gave it up. After that, they knew there is no use of trying it again and they never did.

My life, my rules

Why I'm telling you this is because nowadays I try to practice what I preach in my own life as well. A few years ago my cousin said to me:"At the very young age you showed your character."It was just about some piece of a wardrobe, thus it's so much more. It shows how you simply don't do something just to please others, especially to our parents, close friends, and even our companions etc. Often we subconsciously or ever consciously push aside our wishes and dreams for the sake of others. It's one thing to love our parents and another to live a life by your choice, and by your rules. The very simple thing is no-one can tell us how we should live our life, truly no one. People who love us should accept and support us for who we are, and if they don't understand us, don't try to change yourself, otherwise, you'll never live a full and happy life.
