RE: Don't get screwed by scam accounts while transferring your money to upvote bots!!

There is just no way someone would mistake @build for @buildawhale

about 90% of the example you gave are very far from the whole name.

https://steemit.com/@sneakyninja/transfers or @boomrang have more likely been registered to be sent money by mistake.

Sort:

buildwhale (No a) is the most common misspelling I saw, and I wish I registered it so I can just set it to auto refund. Didn't think of it at the time. Minnowbooster I know has a lot of variants that people fall for.

But I think he is referring to the fact the "previous transfers" dropdown that was added to condenser a little while is wonky. If you type build it will show "buildawhale 1 previous transfer" and you would think hitting tab would auto fill but it doesn't. It just takes you to quantity but leaves it as whatever you were typing "build" or "bui".

If you do it quick enough, I can see it happening.

That's exactly what I was talking about! You are being more clear though in explaining the way it happens )

You could read examples above from real people how it could happen. The system preselects the bot from the list of previous transfers, but in fact wouldn't insert full account name of that bot, just part of it. That's where the issue is coming from, not a user mistyping manually the name of the bot
