A little bit 'late' to the game but isn't the benefit of bittorrent that the more popular a video is the faster every new user gets it? Does IPFS have this too? I mean I was pretty impressed with bitchute which works on webtorrent, but yes someone has to seed it!

IPFS works in a similar way, but no one has really much of a financial incentive to store and stream such content, where even a short video can still require several hundred megabytes to store (not to mention to stream). And just because many people are watching it, doesn't mean they are in turn seeding it and maintaining it for others to view as well.
That's true, thanks for the clarification!
