the crypto barrier
If you are like me, you will most likely have had many discussions with family, friends to share your enthousiasm about crypto. Unfortunately that enthousiasm is too often met by a lot of frowning brows.
Entering the crypto market and making sense of what to invest in, often ends up in money moving into crypto assets that are well known or that your friend has bought into. It is pretty much impossible to make a sensible decision unless putting in some insane work.
Why is it so difficult?
Technical vocabulary, makes studying crypto hard, most of the initial questions that need answering are scattered all over the place. This is a big issue, after researching one crypto in relative depth, people quickly understand that it is impossible to get a good feel of what is fact and what is fiction, what the issues are and how to make sense of it all. Let alone understanding all the factors that define a good crypto asset. So how do you put a value on something you don’t understand and how could you be ever happy about your investment,
Steemit community is the right choice
The only true way to understand the ins and outs of crypto assets is to be part of a community dedicated to researching and discussing the latest movements in the crypto space. Sharing the research with facts and resources and sticking it in one central place. With enough data, people will be drawn to the website that offers the most complete technical and most easily to understand data. This attracts more Steemit users, which in turn attracts more people joining our research which in turn adds to transparancy, better investments and ultimately will get crypto asset developers involved to share their latest data and add to transparancy themselves. The responsibility of transparancy lies strongly by the creators/ devs of a crypto asset, this is where many crypto assets fail. As right now they have no incentive to be transparent whilst we are still in the wild west era of Crypto.
Introducing Crypto Owls
I have written an introduction post about Crypto Owls, the first Steemit Crypto Ranking website using benchmarks over 20+ properties to judge and compare crypto assets. It is still in beta and I have a lot more ideas to use the Steemit functionality to create a research centre and become the most trustworthy unbiased research site on crypto.
goal
Adding transparancy and understanding for those who have extensive and/ or have limited knowledge but like to know more a out crypto assets. There is an enormous amount of data out there and we need to try and make sense of it all.
alternative view
We are focussing on what a crypto asset defines and how they compare, looking at several aspects and doing extensive research through the Steemit community we are aiming to find the latest facts about the development of crypto assets.
Finding answers and getting realistic views of how the future will most likely be defined by these crypto assets. Using logic and facts as a a guidance.
No more graphs and looking at prices
The advantage of simply looking at what a crypto asset is truly about and gathering in depth knowledge of all assets, will give us a much better helicopter view on which crypto’s are highly likely to create long term gains.
At Crypto Owls we are not looking at graphs and short term movements, as we are not convinced that this is a working strategy for most new investors. On the basis that on Steemit alone hundreds of people set out to be doing technical analysis, it seems to me these people are not making enough money from their technical analysis, to quit posting about it.
new format to rank crypto assets
Right now I have already started some research by writing a bunch of benchmarks on the first 8 crypto assets, the benchmarks are posted on Steemit and can be curated and reviewed for accuracy. The top benchmarks are used to calculate the grade.
Research that is proven to be accurate
Once proven accurate there is no need to research it again, unless it comes to light it is outdated. By adding dates to the resources it will become clear how old the info is.
I found it veryhard to share enthousiasm with others @cryptoowls. More pumped I am, worse results Im achieving.
The way I see it is that we need our generation to slowly start dying and the once (current kids) who will take over will hardly remember current monetary system.
That's just circle of life.
Good luck with your CryptoOwls project. Will do my best to support you every now and then here on steemit
Yours
Piotr
Hi @crypto.piotr,
Thx for your reply and supporting, the crypto market is very illogical still, by doing research and collecting data that truly matters it hopefully lowers the barrier a bit to enter the market once this data is more easily understandable and avail.
It also allows for better judgement in longterm investments.
With regards to your bad experiences wih sharing enthousiasm, rest assured your emotions are unlikely to directly affect the market, if they were we really need you @cryptoowls 😄!!
Hopefully fellow investors begin to understand that there is a need for this info, and that it is best to be part of the front, since you will be first to see and judge the data then and act upon it.
I think only very few people have the big picture.
I hope to get more people to collect and share data and use cryptoowls or just enjoy discussing the research at https://t.me/crypto0wls.
I truly believe that once crypto gains traction, safer exchanges come into existence like (LGO), bigger investment vehicles will slowly start getting involved. I believe we will see this before our generation is dead 😄. But it is only a believe, anything can happen, we luckily live in a probablistic world.
I just looked at your profile before I wrote the above. What would be interesting to see is if someone with a big following like you, writes a benchmark on cryptoowls to see how people perceive it.
If you want to be a partner of Crypto Owls and or have tips I would love to hear! Without community Crypto Owls won’t work.
Perhaps joining forces may help the both of us?
