Steemit is quite easy to search through google or the google powered internal search. You could always just plug a significant unique snippet from your content into the search and see if it returns more than your own entry as a hit.

Of course a direct search on the blockchain data itself would be more reliable but that also requires some additional technical know-how (e.g. accessing steem.data via MongoDB).
