So, ah, this might be the most strange digitial collectible that I've found so far...
Collect pirate skull digital assets!
As far as I can tell, the only real difference between the skulls is the bandanna and the background, but there is somewhat of a game here as well, since you can level up your collectible into the different pirate ranks:
And in a geocaching game, you can defend your region with your cards, where you earn loot in the custom token PO8... you can also buy a ton of equipment to help level up your pirate as well.
It looks like it's fully fleshed out, the only question now is ...... why?

i haven't yet understood digital collectibles, except bitcoin, if one thinks of it as a collectible, given limited supply.
I completely agree... Cryptokitties is a good example, to keep the game interesting they have to continually come out with new types of cats... but each time they do it dilutes the overall pool and makes every collectible less scarce. Maybe something is needed where you stake because you've collected the whole set?
