Blessed is the man that endureth temptation for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him. James 1:12 (KJV)
Jesus Christ gave a format of prayer in which He says:
lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Luke 11:4b (KJV)
Christ Jesus was led into temptation (Matthew 4:1) but does not wish the same for us because the devil has nothing good in Him and is crafty with temptation to make us fall from grace. Let's see the aforementioned scripture:
Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. Matthew 4:1 (NIV)
However, sometimes God allows the devil to tempt us so that we can be blessed. These blessings are that endurance/patience is created in us, and subsequently we receive the crown of glory.
Jesus Christ received His crown of glory when He overcame all the temptations of the devil.
No temptation is not common to man; every temptation that comes our way is not new, people have passed through such temptation (s) before but the grace to overcome every temptation has been made available to us by our heavenly father.
Therefore, a wise man will always choose what is more important ahead of what is less important. In other words, the temptations that come our ways are less important while the blessings that we get after overcoming any temptation is more important. So choose to overcome temptation today by connecting to the grace from our maker on daily basis!
