Most people have been noticing their post rewards climbing even though Steem price is not.
The easiest way to explain it is through a few pictures.
Reward Pool prior to HF20
Reward Pool after HF20
Hopefully, that helps.

B-b-but some whiny weasels told me that forks are evil and the Steem-mutt is ruined and the good times were over... I've been lied to!
I think less users and less posting are more important as compared to a less tapped reward pool at the moment. Seems like the wrong benchmark to me.
So you are saying the reward pool has been fake before and after HF20 with duplicate and miniture swimmers?
Not fake,it was raped.
And still is being raped now
I love this analogy! Resteemed

Hahaha! Love it! Very funny and factual!
You are a cool witness!
It wont be long before reward pool rapist's come back..
They never left anywhere
Pool Is Expanded. And every update holds both ups and downs, after Hardfork 20 initially we had the tough phase but for sure now it's time for the growth.@themarkymark, Awesome, great to see that you've showcased an great example and with simplicity but effectively explained that
And most of the times, we don't try to find the answers and we just think that, It Just Happens but nothing happens for just like that, so we have to search for the answers because every problem - creates an solution - and every solution creates an opportunity.
Wishing you an great day and stay blessed. 🙂
Well the pool is the same size, it's just there is less posting and curation so the posts are getting a bigger slice of the reward pool.
Agree with you, thanks for adding your words. Stay blessed. 🙂
All the more for us, the bot accounts have been removed?
Who peed in the pool?
Seems to me that the low-SP people are still in the small pool. I noticed the increased income too and I feel the responsibility coming with it. The responsibility not to keep it to me but to let others profit from it too by voting their posts.
The point: the grass used to be greener...
Haha.. Clever!
Technically it's greener now.
Lel, you're quick. I need some of that wit. Is the reward pool after HF20 bigger for some reason? Or is it because people can't post due to RC limitations?
It is slightly bigger due to not being used as much, but the point is more that it is less crowded, the bigger pool is just for wow effect.
Is the voting curation burn contributing to the reward pool getting larger?
Slightly, but it was mostly due to no one posting during the hard fork issues and less posting even today
Thanks. You're one of the go-to guys here when i can't figure out whats going on. So i'm going to ask a really dumb question. Does posting shrink the reward pool by the post itself? If no one votes does the pool change? Thanks i'm not as sharp as i used to be...
the reward pool is shared, so every post pulls from it, but the pool will never run out unless something crazy happens. Each vote controls how much of the reward pool a post should receive, so if no one votes, the reward pool just grows.
Thank you! The longer i'm here the more i am amazed by the mechanics of how it all works. I'm old enough to remember when computers used vacuum tubes! l probably should have gotten into learning it then right?!
These things are worth a fortune now
That's what I thought. It's bigger because fewer people are using Steemit.
Not sure if that is good thing.
Fewer people in a larger pool. Sounds fine to me.

I am glad I continued to post during the Hard Fork crisis! Great analogy!
hahahah easy enough!!
Yep good explain! I had detected exactly this... the steem Price is Even falling. But the rewards are higher! Nice one 😀👍

I am blind, do you not have audio? TTS (joke)
Well hey this is actually good enough! I thought it had to do with Steem prices but I checked earlier and I found myself at roadblock.
Glad to know it's because there's been less posts and the platform is less crowded!
WOW
This is fantastic! Very clearly illustrated.
Thank you.
That does help - your explanation I mean. I was wondering what was going on. I love being explained thing in pictures as well.
Cool beans!
Will it stay like that?
Hope is the remedy.
Ah, bigger pool, same number of people.
I figured there were just fewer people in the pool sharing, due to the whole HF.20 thing.
Thanks for the explanation!
odd that. my rewards have been decreasing.
,mb
Good analogy to have choosen those picures. ;)

Well that explains everything. 😹
If you are implying the pool is bigger , does that mean we are printing more currency now ?
or you are merely implying that there is less traffic ?
The pool is a lot bigger, prior to HF20 the pool was around 750K Steem, it has just broke 900K Steem.
But I was more saying, there is less fighting for the pool than there was before as a lot of spammers have almost no SP and thus now RC to spam. There is still a shit ton of spam though, just a bit less.
Since pool is bigger does that mean we are printing more STEEM now? isn't that unplanned inflation ?
No, we are set to print 64,000 steem/day, but we don't print that much.
@themarkymark, I didn't understand it. Probably, because it is still early in the morning here, I am in the bus going to work and my brain still rests.

More water in the reward pool than I expected...
All joking aside, thanks for the explanation :)
It gives breathing room you, it’s much more better for networking when you a normal flow of quality posts, rather than being overcrowded with shit posts.
HF20 might not be so bad in the end.

:)))
OK. Though if you are into hanging out in the pool rather than swimming pre-HF20 could be better for you:)
How did the underlying algorithms change, though?
Heheh... NOW I see! ;)
I like pictures.
A (couple of) picture(s) speak(s) a thousand words. Thanks for the straight forward explanation. I have noticed :D
great explanation markyy wow what a way of explanation hahaha

I hadn't noticed the rewards increase. Actually, they decreased for me. I was unable to post during the HF week, and the rewards of my posts that paid out that week were smaller than I had seen before the HF (not sure why, but I think it may be because someone upvoted my posts right after I published them and threw part of the rewards away :( ).
But I noticed my SP increasing! It was odd to suddenly see my SP increase by 0.001 or more over time even though I had done nothing to increase it (no rewards and no power-ups). Then I saw that the value of STEEM per MVests is increasing. It was 495.135 a few days ago, and now it's 495.188. Is this related to the "less people sharing the pool" factor?
I'm still not sure whether to be happy about this or not... I assume these effects are temporary. Once most accounts that stopped transacting resume their activities (provided that many of them have enough RC), the reward pool and the STEEM per MVests will be mostly back to the way they were before, won't they?
Hahahahaha nice logic by the way 🤣😂
