Sadness takes of New Orleans
DeMarcus Cousins suffered a torn Achilles tendon . Unfortunately he is out for the remainder of the season. Cousins suffered the injury with approximately 12 seconds left in the game. Cousins will undergo surgery to repair this horrible injury, until then we don´t know how long he is out.
" This injury is uncommonly tragic, despairing, and frustrating. "
Cousins will be a free agent this offseason and New Orleans would obviously have thrown a max contract his way. He considered the best NBA player in history to never play in a playoff game. He was going to probably play in the playoffs because Pelicans started to show very good basketball lately.
Recovery will be long, but it isn´t the end of BOOGIE. Until that moment when we see boogie again, i wish him nice recovery.
Absolutely devastating for the Pelicans. They were playing good ball (27-21, 6th seed in the West) and are one of the more intriguing teams with both Davis and Cousins. I hope that they can still hang on to make the playoffs because I really enjoy watching Davis play, he's gonna have to step up BIG time, along with Holiday as well. DeMarcus will be back as the #1 center in the NBA next year. Thankfully, I don't have him on any of my fantasy teams, I feel bad for those who do!
Absolutely, Davis needs to do little bit more than he already is doing. Letś see if they use tranfser window to pick somebody up. Also i hope that Pelicans will invest in the Boogie and Davis duo and doesn´t let Cousins walk away in the summer.
I have AD on my fantasy team so I've watched a bunch of the Pelicans games this year. It's a bummer to see Boogie go down like this but... man, I don't know about his future now. Achilles tears usually mean huge drop offs for big guys. It'll be interesting to say if the Pelican's risk a max contract with him now.
