The working group got involved in the design of a proposal? Yea... But no. A big no no.
As a former auditor, we were always taught that we had to not only be independent, but look independent.
As for the "elections", simply holding votes doesn't make it democratic.
I remember the votes for the working group. Turnout was very low, a couple of hundred votes using emojis on Discord.
Finally, aren't you the chair person?

Nah, they didn't write the proposal. They helped identify the vision/mission keywords, which is usually a group exercise, and gave input. I wrote the actual proposal by taking parts of the existing three proposals and stitching them together. That's why if you look at it, you see my subcommittees with the starts align topical sub-boards headings. The proposals just fit together.
No, some members of the working group gave input on three proposals that combined their proposals into one. As well as agreeing to be on the “steering group” that would help it be implemented, if it was chosen by the community.
Why? They shouldn’t help to give the community multiple options? I’ve answered quite a few questions about proposals along the way and gave advice.. was that not acceptable? Or is the issue just having the names listed there for transparency?
Oh good! We actually need auditors for the upcoming election, as that’s not what the working group is.
But we do have an open community election coming up which will be audited by anyone who wants to. Maybe you can help with that, this process sure could use more volunteers
How about having an on chain open election, with full real time audits availabile as well as work done to ensure every voice was heard? I’m sure that’s not democratic either...
Compared to what? The previous elections that have been done here? Have you been helping get the word out to ensure more of the community is heard? Many have 🙂
Who? The Steem Alliance account? It’s just an account. I’m the current chair, yep. Did you have a question?
