And when that happens prepare for the other crypto communities to panic. Expect the Fud and propaganda to come once Steemit gets close to a billion and believe me it will easily reach that for the simple fact that there are way more regular people users than programmers.

Ethereum is interesting to programmers but that's about it right now. Bitcoin is interesting to some crypto-anarchists but that's about it right now. Steemit is interesting to the blogsphere and competes with sites like Hufflington Post, Dailykos, Reddit, Digg, and 4chan.

All of those sites are mainstream and huge. It's just a matter of Steemit attracting content. I also think Steem can improve with some more functionality, plugins, better ability to post videos for example. IPFS promises to allow for this functionality and once that happens Steem will reach 1 billion market cap easily.
