This blog could change the way use and progress through the block-chain forever........
setting targets
I bet when you started out on here you thought (like i did)"i'm going to make lots of money doing this",well may be we will, maybe we won't, either way we all must set our self's something to aim at.
Many weeks ago i started saying to myself it was time to get realistic. If Steemit was what i wanted to do then i better get serious.
See when i discovered Youtube payed you for your popularity i quickly realised that everything pretty much had been done on there and that the early bird most definitely caught the worm. So when i heard about Steeemit and the Block-chain i knew now was the time to strike and become a jedi like my father. ( well for all i know he could of been a jedi).
So i need goals or key point indicators (K.P.I'S) to track my progress along the way. See numbers have a language. They have a great way of letting you know how good or bad you are doing. To achieve my goals i need to know what i'm doing right and what i'm doing wrong so the only way is to keep a record of where i have been, where i am going and where i want to be, along with what i have done to influence the change.
Record you data
I have started to record my inputs and outputs from my Steemit channel in two weekly intervals, with a end of the year target so i had something to aim for and i could see how well i did over the past two weeks and what i have done to influence that. I did this by first logging down some vital numbers.....
As you can see each row is broken up into two weekly sections and each column is the statistic i want to increase, with the bottom column being my end of year target.
Now i'm not very clued up on excel but i can learn that along the way but having the data is the only way to start.
what is clever about this way of data capture is that thew program can calculate percentages along with a lot more other mathematical algorithms and display them in many different ways like bar charts, pie charts, line graphs etc so you can see where what weeks you did better/worst than other's. That gives you a point in time where you can look back and see what blog or comment or other activity on the block-chain, caused the change, whether it was good or bad.
Lets take my followers
If lets just say i post a blog which see's a lot of my followers unfollow me then i would the next row on the first of may would have a decrease in followers.
Now matching this data with what i have posted in the past two weeks i can then track down what has caused to decline and be able to put thing right during my next two weeks. and i can display this in chart style to using Excel by highlighting the numbers i want to look at
then clicking on the bar chart icon at the top
this then takes your data and shows you in the style of a graph. in this case a bar chart but they are many others.
I know all this may sound to complicated to some but trust me i only started using this software myself and even i don't know the basics yet.
Summary
So yes in summary start setting yourself a target and how ever you wish to do it, keep track of your progress along the way and this will leave you in better understanding of what works and what doesn't .
After that the only way is up and that pipe dream of being a steemit millionaire could soon be in your grasp.
