Coinbase is forking now too, and if Coinbase Hardfork don't accept STEEM, then Coinbase Classic certainly will, especially when they realize that many coins will exist in the future, and hedge funds will capitalize most by obtaining possession of the coins themselves. Exciting times ahead.
Why should you be concerned about Coinbase? Because they have established the industry standard suite of best practices and they follow them at the expense of their own ability to provide maximum liquidity. This means that it takes them hours to access their cold multisig wallets.
