Is block-chain the BETAmax of consensus algorithms?

But, it really won't matter. If something like DVDs shows up (compared to video tapes), its all software, and bitcoin will be running on it within a fortnight.

The thing about crypto-currencies is that it is not only cheaper in energy usage compared to the old, completely outdated swift system and the banks, it is also the first REAL money we have had in over a century.
