this is not correct, I received 146 Steem$ for a post and I selected power up and within 7 days i should have received it but nothing, steemit is a scam
I understand, When I was a new user I also used that option and it did give me the steempower after a week, so you may just have to wait little longer.
But I will say this again, you don't not need to wait 7 Days. Instead of selecting Power Up you can choose Buy Or Sell and you will enter the market, where you can sell for STEEM right away and then convert it to SteemPower, right away!
you receive Steem Power and Steem Backed Dollars for posts (not Steem, the first one on your wallet page). What @blueorgy is saying, is that you could have sold the SBDs to an exchange for Steem, which can be used to power up (convert into SteemPower) right away ... the internal market does take a week
