Just wanted to let folks know that we've completed the first round of deposits and withdrawals of HIVE onto Steem-Engine. The buttons aren't on the front end yet, but that should be happening over the next couple of days.
<p dir="auto">If you're feeling brave you can test it out now. This isn't a very friendly user experience and I don't recommend it for people not very code savvy. But if you're brave then fear not as it works. If you're unsure try it with something like 0.1 Hive and see if you can make it work before trying larger amounts. <p dir="auto">If this is too scary then just wait a day or two as we'll get the buttons working that do all the formatting for you. <h2>Details (again, feel free to wait a day or two for friendly buttons) <p dir="auto"><strong>HIVE on the HIVE blockchain to HIVEP on Steem/Steem-Engine<br /><code>HIVEP username do not include the @ symbol in the name.<span> While you're on the HIVE network send hive to <a href="/@steem-tokens">@steem-tokens and use the Memo <p dir="auto"><code>HIVEP lovejuice Notice how I didn't include @ in front of lovejuice in the memo.<span>So, if I want to send HIVE on the HIVE blockchain from <a href="/@aggroed">@aggroed to my alt account <a href="/@lovejuice">@lovejuice I would log into <a href="/@aggroed">@aggroed on the HIVE blockchain. I would send hive to <a href="/@steem-tokens">@steem-tokens and use the memo <p dir="auto"><strong>HIVEP on Steem/Steem-Engine to HIVE on the HIVE blockchain<br /><code>HIVE username Again, please note to NOT include @ in front of the username.<span> If you'd like to take your HIVEP off the steem-engine exchange then you can reverse the process by sending HIVEP to <a href="/@steem-tokens">@steem-tokens (on the STEEM blockchain). This time use the memo <p dir="auto"><code>HIVE minnowsupport<span>So, if I want to convert HIVEP on Steem-Engine on the <a href="/@lovejuice">@lovejuice account to <a href="/@minnowsupport">@minnowsupport on the hive blockchain as HIVE I would log into <a href="/@lovejuice">@lovejuice on Steem, and transfer HIVEP to <a href="/@steem-tokens">@steem-tokens and I'll include the memo <span>. Note I didn't include the @ sign in the memo in front of minnowsupport. Note the memo is now HIVE and not HIVEP. By doing this HIVEP will get converted to HIVE on the HIVE blockchain and be on the <a href="/@minnowsupport">@minnowsupport account. <p dir="auto"><strong>Again, please test with small amounts before trying larger amounts. <p dir="auto">It may take a few minutes to process. Even though the transaction speed is 3 seconds on both chains the script looking for conversions typically only runs once every couple few minutes. So, if it's not instantaneous don't freak out. Give it 5-10 minutes before bugging us in discord (discord.steem-engine.com). Also, please don't use transfer large amounts until you're comfortable with the small amounts working. <p dir="auto">Normally I'd wait for until the user friendly buttons are ready, but I'm giving heads up as there are exactly 0 exchanges that are accepting deposits and withdrawals right now. So, even though it isn't super friendly yet I think it's important to get it working ASAP. <h2>Gratitude <p dir="auto"><span>It's a pretty crazy rush to try to figure things out. The 3 day transition was unexpected. That said, we've been able to get everyone funds that wanted to withdraw from steem-engine before the fork. Many thanks to <a href="/@cryptomancer">@cryptomancer, <a href="/@harpagon">@harpagon, and <a href="/@eonwarped">@eonwarped for that. <p dir="auto"><span>Now the Crypto Token Converter is functional with HIVE. Thanks to thecrazygm for getting a fork of BEEM working for Hive. Thanks to <a href="/@privex">@privex and <a href="/@someguy123">@someguy123 for getting HIVE <--> HIVEP working this quickly. <h2>Steem-Engine and Hive-Engine Plans <p dir="auto">In case you missed it I'll be creating Hive-Engine on the Hive Blockchain from scratch. The balances and tokens will not carry over from Steem-engine. Steem-Engine will continue to operate exactly as it is doing. This plan is largely due to legal reasons, and I know some users aren't happy about it, but I'm avoiding an Ether Delta situation. Kindly bear with us as we get it launched. Expected launch of the backend could be as early as next week, though early april is more likely. Once that's operational the plan is to get a front end going like steem-engine.com or next.steem-engine.com. <p dir="auto">Eventually, the plan is operate two backends (hive/steem) and only operate one front end. So, we'll pick a name that's not chain specific and operate a multi chain dex from there. <p dir="auto"><span>For more details check here: <a href="https://steempeak.com/steem-engine/@aggroed/my-plan" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener" title="This link will take you away from hive.blog" class="external_link">https://steempeak.com/steem-engine/@aggroed/my-plan
Thanks to you and your team for your hard work.
I have resteemed this post. It’s great to see the crypto converter used for this. Another great product from the talented developers on the Steem blockchain.
This is false though, I've already deposited and sold steem on ionomy.com
Glad to see a direct steem/hive trading pair though, this should make things interesting once it gets in full swing.
No, there are 0 Exchanges to directly swap STEEM >> HIVE or vice-versa. SE fills that void well.
That's not what he said though, I quoted him directly, and even mentioned the STEEM/HIVE pair being a good thing.
Do someone know, when to acces the wallet on the homepage?
What about the Hive that was dropped onto the STEEM that is resident on SE?
Is that going to be given to the holders in the form of HIVEP?
Custodial Steem has been snapshotted. We'll push Hive to account holders. I don't have an ETA, but highly likely to be in March.
Love it.
Thanks for that.
Together, we will all get through this mess.
For those who missed it like I did, what's the legal case behind that Ether Delta situation?
You are the man.
I will give it a try later.
Even for me to navigate from both blockchain is a headache.
I can see the community in you for getting us there.
A big thank you and for the team as well

Noice. Are there plans to somehow connect both engines (steem/hive)?
That get's messy. We'll see.
First step is just to get the hive side working.
Ah, that's sure. I was thinking more about exchanging steemp <-> hivep.
I think hivep should be the main base pair once everything is set up. I hope they go in that direction.
Brilliant, thanks for this guys!
Awesome, but please carry on all steem engine tokens to hive engine, simply switch the underlying blockchains. The old Steem data is still on the Hive blockchain, just change the name and underlying blockchain.
They won't, due to legal stuff. It's up to the individual tribes what they do with their tokens.
oh I see, then tribes could probably airdrop on the new hive engine same amount as on the old steem engine.
I guess, it's possible if creation charges of new tokens and tribes are waived off for existing SE tokens & tribes. But why would they do that!
Yes, but some tribe owners are very quiet. Hive engine won’t be free for them I think.
Brilliant news!
Thank for message

Do we get airdrop for holding steem on steem-engine before chain was splitted?
Something strange, to me, happened yesterday. I transferred 150 steem to steem-engine and used them to buy some tokens. Today, when I saw my hive account, I noticed that 150 hive were transferred to steem-peg. What is steem-peg? Why someone transfered hive from my account here to it? Aren't steemit and hive separated now?
There's weird issues because the chains currently have the exact same ID. I'm not sure what actions you've taken.
Steem-peg is the custodial account for steem on steem-engine. Steem is stored there and you're given Steemp.
I simply transferred the 150 steem from my steemit account to steem-engine, using the steem-engine transfer function, nothing more. Are my 150 hive in steem-engine? I received 148.5 steemp.
hive and steem currently trading @airhawk-exchange to nigeria fiat, traders are stacking up both coins
I appreciate this heads up, as I and many others have been wondering what's going on without formal notification regarding Steem-engine so far. I bet you're busier than you'd like.
None of the tokens that existed previously will exist anymore? I sure hope I misunderstand this. Please do explain this in words of one syllable and excruciating detail, so that I cannot fail to understand what you mean.
Thanks!
Hive-engine will start from scratch. Steem-engine will keep running.
It's up to individual tribes of they want to do an airdrop for their token on Hive-engine or not.
Some have already stated that they want to do this, some won't and some are very quiet.
I can confirm: it works!
And in steem-engine you can trade STEEMP for HIVEP (and vice versa) and then send HIVEP as HIVE to yur hive-account. Neat!
I don't have a wallet that I can see. Is there something I was suppose to do?
I've noticed that hive deposit / withrawal is ready to use.
But this deposit is a little strange. Why should I send hivep instead of hive?
I sent 92.9 hive to 'steem-tokens' and nothing happened. It's gone.
