It seems the long chase of Leicester City's Harry Maguire is about to come into fruition as rumours have it that a deal has been agreed on by the two clubs.
The deal which is said to be in the region of £80m which if go through will be the world-record fee for a defender if it goes through. The deal would eclipse the current record of £75 which Liverpool paid Southampton for Van Dijk last summer.
The England international is expected to undergo and complete a medical at Old Trafford by the weekend after which the deal will be officially announced.
This signing will make the third signing for Manchester United in what appears to be a very busy transfer window as they plan to strengthen their squad club after a disappointing season. They have already signed Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Daniel James and it appears there is still more to come as Juventus is keen in getting Romelu Lukaku in a deal which will see Paulo Dybala arriving at the Manchester club.
The 26-year-old’s has been on United's radar since last season after a successful outing with the England National Team in the 2018 World Cup tournament which saw England reach Semi-Finals.
Maguire made a total of 69 Premier League appearances for the Foxes after joining from Hull City in 2017.
If the deal is completed in time, the defender could be available to make his debut in Manchester United opening fixture against Chelsea on August 11 in the 2019/2020 Premier League Season.
What do you think about this deal, is it a good one for Manchester United?!
